Janice Dickinson 'launches £700k legal claim after I'm A Celeb fall'

Janice Dickinson is reportedly taking legal action after her appearance on the all-star version of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!

The 70-year-old US supermodel is said to be seeking £700,000 in compensation from ITV Studios after claiming she suffered "permanent facial deformities and nerve damage” after falling on set in 2023.

According to the Mirror, Dickinson alleges she was under the influence of sleeping medication, given to her by a medic employed by ITV, when she tripped in the dark.

ITV Studios has responded to the claim, telling the Standard they “don’t recognise this version of events”.

“The show operates a high level of safety protocols and the health, safety and welfare of all of our contributors are our number one priority,” a spokesperson said.

They continued: “We don’t recognise this version of events.

“However, we looked after Janice at the time, paid her medical expenses, flew her home to LA, and the I’m A Celebrity team were in regular contact with Janice and her representatives on an ongoing basis after she returned home to America until after the programme aired seven months later.”

Documents have been filed by law firm Taylor Hampton at London’s High Court.

According to the paper, it is claimed in the documents the injuries affect her appearance, facial movement and sensation and are not capable of surgical or non-surgical correction.

Dickinson’s UK representative Dermot McNamara told the Standard: “Janice is fully committed to this legal process and seeing it though to its conclusion. She looks forward to unpacking ITV's response.”

Dickinson first appeared on I’m A Celebrity back in 2007, before returning for the all-star series, which was filmed in South Africa.

Following the incident, the model told the Sun in 2023: “I walked a couple of steps and tripped, flying flat on my face – hair all over my forehead, my nose was bloody and my whole chin was gashed open.

“Blood was gushing from all these areas, and there was dirt and stones embedded in my face from the fall.”

She added: “All I could feel was an intense head pain – from one to ten it was about a nine – and I was just lying there, moaning. It was a freak accident that happened so quickly.”
