Janey Godley set to release two new books based on adventures with her sausage dog

Janey Godley is set to release two brand new books based on adventures with her little sausage dog.

The Scots comedian, 61, will launch two new titles that will focus on the everyday chaos and hilarity of life with her dog Honey.

In order to cater for everyone, two versions of the book will be released - one of which will be family-friendly and the other containing strong language.

'Honey Found a Home: the lucky sausage!' is the family-friendly option, while 'Honey and Janey: you’ve been telt!' will feature emotionally honest, though very expletive, language.

Speaking about the book on Instagram, Janey said: "Yes I'm writing a kids book! Check it out, of course we've got one for adults too! So you can get Honey for kids and for adults in Waterstones and Amazon! You're famous honey!"

Janey will be at Argyle Street Waterstones On Thursday evening with fellow comedian Susie McCabe, answering fan questions and signing copies of her books. Tickets are £5, and are available here. The book Honey and Janey will be available to purchase on the night.

Despite a tough year for Janey, after being diagnosed with ovarian cancer just before Christmas, the 61-year-old hasn't let it hinder her. Alongside the release of her books, the comedian is preparing for her Not Dead Yet tour, which begins February 2023.

Janey named her tour 'Not Dead Yet' after receiving messages from trolls wishing her dead. Earlier this month, the Scots comedian took to Twitter to say that she would be back on the stage with her new show next year after taking a break from performing during her cancer battle.

The comedian has been regularly updating fans on her cancer journey as she underwent operations and treatment. Following gruelling chemotherapy sessions, the funny-woman announced her latest scan came back clear in June.

The 61-year-old is a stand up comedian, however during the coronavirus pandemic she became well known for her funny clips and voice overs impersonating the likes of Scotland's First Minister Nicola Sturgeon and former Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

Despite her huge online presence, she said she's excited to get back on the stage. Talking about her tour on the website, Janey wrote: "I am still NOT DEAD YET and bringing my tour back on the road.

"So many stories of heart-warming love and outpouring of support to the occasional daily messages hoping I might die soon because … well I am a woman who answered back. There will be voiceovers and anecdotes, straight from the woman who wouldn’t die or shut up. Come join me! Please watch social media for more details and this page for future listings."

Speaking to the camera with a huge smile on her face, Janey said: "Hi there, it is getting late and I'm sitting here thinking about my life and what is going on then I realise that on the 7th of February next year, I am going to Galashiels to do a gig and I canny believe that I'm getting to go back on tour again. And it's been such a tough time but so much positivity and support from everybody out there."
