Janey Godley's 'Soup Pot' tour dates cancelled following cancer diagnosis

Scottish comedian Janey Godley has sadly had to cancel her solo 'Soup Pot' tour as she undergoes cancer treatment.

The tour dates were supposed to take place on Friday, March 18 and Saturday, March 19 at Glasgow's King's Theatre.

The comic, who was diagnosed with ovarian cancer last year and shared the news via Twitter in November.

Sadly, Janey is suffering with Stage 3b cancer which means the disease has spread beyond her ovaries and she will require further treatment.

She underwent a full hysterectomy in January and is now facing chemo as her cancer is now classed as 'advanced'.

Janey initially thought she would get back to touring following her operation and never imagined she would need chemotherapy.

Despite the disappointment, Janey is still keen for shows to go ahead on the booked dates.

Confirming in a Tweet earlier this evening, The Kings Theatre announced that the solo tour dates will be replaced by a great line up of comedians - all friends of Janey.

The comic have signed up for the show free of charge will all profits going to The Beatson Cancer Charity, the wish of Janey herself.

The theatre continued their announcement saying: "We're hoping, health permitting, that Janey will be able to attend on the night for a few minutes."

Those with tickets will be contacted shortly regarding the changes.

The comics and the theatre are hoping that ticket holders will still support the show.
