Janet Jackson is set to auction off over 800 items including outfits and costumes from her music videos and tours.
For those hoping to get their hands on a piece of music history, the auction will be held live at the Hard Rock Cafe in New York and online at Julien’s Live on May 21, the auction house announced.
Among the items on offer are the instantly recognisable outfits that the 56-year-old music legend wore on her Rhythm Nation tour and in her iconic 1993 That’s The Way Love Goes video, along with bedazzled microphones and CDs commemorating the platinum status of her blockbuster albums.
Another standout of the collection is a white long-sleeved puckered shirt that the US star wore when she teamed up with her brother Michael Jackson in the music video for their track Scream.
The song was the lead single from his 1995 album HIStory: Past, Present and Future, Book I. It’s stylish black and white music video was among the most-expensive ever made due to its $7 million price tag.
Janet Jackson superfans can even buy her old car, a 2003 Aston Martin V12 Vanquish, or even the Together Again hit-maker’s bed frame made of rosewood and leather.
Ahead of the auction, some of the memorabilia is on display to the public at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida before moving to the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey on May 8.
