Janet Jackson was close with her brother Michael Jackson before his death in 2009, but it seems there were some tough times in their relationship as well.
The pair grew up in the spotlight with Michael and his brothers taking the world by storm as part of The Jackson 5.
Despite achieving global fame and huge success, Janet has retired from the limelight in recent years - until the release of her new documentary.
Clips already released for the hotly anticipated two-part special, see Janet opening up about her turbulent bond with Michael, admitting that many of their issues stemmed from childhood.
In one trailer, Janet becomes emotional as she spoke of being fat shamed by her famous older brother and told the cameras that his taunts continued to affect her as she got older.
The 55-year-old also speaks candidly on the shocking abuse allegations that surrounded Michael in his later years and the impact the rumours had on her career as well.
We take a look back at their testing sibling bond from childhood to superstardom ahead of the release of Lifetime's eye-opening documentary Janet.
Fat-shaming
Janet has shared that her late brother Michael would tease her about her weight by calling her names such as 'pig' and 'cow'.
The star talks about the fat-shaming in her documentary where she admits that Michael would be joking but it would still impact her.
She said: "There were times when Mike used to tease me and call me names."
She then goes on to list names such as 'Pig', 'horse', 'slaughter hog', 'cow'.
The singer said: "He would laugh about it and I’d laugh too, but then there was somewhere down inside that it would hurt. When you have somebody say you’re too heavy, it affects you."
The Sun reported that Janet opens up that she has struggled with her weight since she was a child and was being launched into a career.
When she was just ten, the star won the role of abandoned girl Penny on the US sitcom Good Times which is when the problems started.
Explaining how she is an emotional eater, she revealed that when she is stressed she'd turn to food that 'comforts' her.
Despite just being ten when she made her TV debut, this is when she began noticing her weight and becoming more conscious.
Janet claimed her body started to develop at a young age so the people she worked for would bind her chest in order to create a more flat-chested look.
But when she was asked if she would've dealt with her body image better if she was out of the spotlight, she said she probably wouldn't have had any problems.
Abuse allegations
Michael has been accused of child molestation in the past, which Janet admits was detrimental to her career as well as her personal life.
In the documentary, Janet says she has found herself to be accused of being 'guilty by association', with it impacting jobs that she was due to be involved in.
The King of Pop was first accused of child sex abuse in 1993 when 13 year old Jordan Chandler alleged Michael molested him at his home, Neverland, in California.
When asked if the allegation affected her, Janet said: "Yeah. It was frustrating for me. We have our own separate lives and even though he’s my brother, that has nothing to do with me.
"But I wanted to be there for him, to support him as much as I possibly could."
The lawsuit was settled in January 1994 with a $23million pay out to the Chandlers, but Janet said this made him look guilty, despite Michael just wanting the situation to 'go away'.
At the time, Janet was due to sign a deal with Coca-Cola, which would've been the biggest deal of her career so far, however the lucrative offer fell through due to the allegations.
Two years later, the two siblings went on to sing a duet on the 1995 hit Scream, which retaliated against media coverage of the claims.
The new documentary Janet airs on Sky Documentaries and Now from January 31st.
