Janet Jackson Responds to Jayson Tatum’s Apology for Creating Concert Conflict

After the Celtics clinched their spot in the second round of the 2023 NBA playoffs, Jayson Tatum issued an apology to pop music star Janet Jackson. On Saturday, Jackson replied to Tatum’s message with a one-emoji response, seemingly indicating that all was well between the two.

Jackson had been scheduled to perform a concert at State Farm Arena in Atlanta on Thursday night. However, her concert was postponed one day after the Hawks rallied for a big comeback win against the Celtics in Game 5.

Game 6 was held in Atlanta on Thursday, causing Jackson’s concert date to be bumped back a day.

“I want to send an apology to the legend Janet Jackson. We were supposed to close it out in Boston. She had to postpone her show. Hope she sees this, I apologize for that,” said Tatum.

It seems there’s no hard feelings between Jackson and Tatum, as the 56-year-old music legend replied on Twitter with a single prayer-hand emoji, while tagging the Celtics’ star.

While Tatum and Co. couldn’t get the job done on their home court in Boston, they managed to defeat the Hawks in Game 6 in Atlanta.

They’re set to face the 76ers in the second round of the playoffs, but before focusing on that matchup, the 25-year-old sent out a quick apology in the direction of Jackson.

Hopefully, Boston and Philadelphia are able to get through their second-round series without any scheduling conflicts of their own.
