Janelt in, Mads Bech out - Predicted Brentford XI to face Leeds United

Brentford will conclude what has been an incredible debut season in the Premier League when they host Leeds United tomorrow at Brentford Community Stadium.

However, it is far from a normal end of season game. Leeds have to win to stand a chance of survival but could still go down if Burnley match their result. All the Clarets have to do is beat Newcastle at Turf Moor tomorrow, which will assure them of Premier League football next season.

As Thomas Frank has reiterated in the past week, the Bees will not be taking tomorrow's game lightly in any shape or form. Brentford can still finish in the top ten providing they win and London rivals West Ham beat Brighton at the Amex.

Former Leeds defender Pontus Jansson spoke on his sadness of the Yorkshire club's plight down the table, following an impressive last season where the Elland Road outfit finished in a respectable ninth place.

However, the Swede is set to put all sentiment aside and will start for Brentford tomorrow barring any issues. Who partners him is perhaps another question in itself - it's safe to say Mads Bech had a disastrous time against Everton last time out and was spared further humiliation when he was replaced by Vitaly Janelt who didn't put a foot wrong in the second half at Goodison Park.

Granted it was only a 45-minute cameo from the German in an unfamiliar position, but given how poor Bech was coupled with the fact that Julian Jeanvier is the only other option who hasn't played at all this season, the German might be given another start in central defence alongside Jansson.

With Janelt potentially starting in defence, that could signal that the midfield from the win at Everton could be unchanged. The trio of Christian Norgaard, Christian Eriksen and Mathias Jensen did fantastically last week, and all of three are set to start tomorrow. Josh Dasilva was also very impressive when he came on at Goodison, but Jensen did himself justice with a good performance. Frank will have a choice to make, but is likely to select his fellow compatriot.

The front three of Bryan Mbeumo, Ivan Toney and Yoane Wissa will be looking to feast against one of the most vulnerable defences in the league - only Norwich (79) have a worse defence than Leeds (78). Wissa looked a thorn on Everton's right-hand side and with Luke Ayling suspended, the Congo international will look to cause more problems.

Mbeumo and Toney will be hoping to cause their defence problems, and given how porous Leeds' defence is, Brentford will feel they will get their opportunities over the course of the game - but have to ensure they take them as they come.

Predicted Brentford XI to face Leeds United: Raya; Ajer, Jansson, Janelt, Henry; Eriksen, Norgaard, Jensen; Mbeumo, Toney, Wissa.

Squad: Lössl, Sorensen, Jeanvier, Stevens, Roerslev, Baptiste, Dasilva, Canos, Young-Coombes.

Referee: Paul Tierney

VAR: John Brooks
