Jane Seymour reveals what she grabbed amid California wildfires

Jane Seymour recently fled her home in California

Jane Seymour grabbed belongings that had "sentimental value" before fleeing her home amid wildfires.

The 73-year-old actress' home in Malibu, California, was recently threatened by the wildfires, and Jane has now revealed what items she grabbed before heading to safety.

She told PEOPLE: "I took some jewellery that had sentimental value, and I grabbed two books that my mother had saved during World War II in a concentration camp.

"I thought if they could survive that, then they needed to survive this fire, so they came with me."

Jane accepts that dealing with natural disasters is part and parcel of living in California.

The actress - who was born in Britain, but became a naturalised citizen of the US in 2005 - said: "It's what we live with in California. I mean, all over the world now. Right? There is no place that doesn't have some natural disaster."

Meanwhile, Jane previously insisted that she has "no inclination" to retire.

The Hollywood star suggested that she's busier now than ever before, and Jane doesn't have any plans to slow down.

The actress - who starred in 1973's 'Live and Let Die' - told Radio Times magazine in 2022: "For some reason I’ve yet to understand, I’m working more now than I ever have in my life.

"I’ve no inclination to retire. Why would I do less of something I love?"

Jane still feels as passionate and as enthusiastic about acting as she ever has done. And the veteran actress insisted she doesn't have any intention of walking away.

She shared: "In 1988, I worked with John Gielgud on ‘War and Remembrance’ when he was 84 and I asked him the same thing.

"He replied, ‘As long as my name is on a call sheet, I know I’ll be alive in the morning.'"
