Jane Fonda says she feels 'blessed' as actress confirms cancer is in remission

Hollywood icon Jane Fonda has given fans some good news - revealing that her cancer is in remission and she no longer requires chemotherapy. The Grace and Frankie star took to social media to make the announcement on Thursday after she revealed her diagnosis back in September.

Captioning a snap on Instagram : "LATEST BLOG POST: BEST BIRTHDAY PRESENT EVER!!!", the 84 year-old, who turns 85 on December 21, also thanked fans for their overwhelming support through her journey, reports the Express.

Along with a picture of her marching at a climate protest in the US, Fonda penned: "Last week I was told by my oncologist that my cancer is in remission and I can discontinue chemo. I am feeling so blessed, so fortunate. I thank all of you who prayed and sent good thoughts my way. I am confident that it played a role in the good news."

Jane shared the remainder of her message via her blog, as she went on to describe the effects of her treatment on her latest set of eco protests and marches in Washington DC and beyond. The rallies, known as Fire Drill Fridays, were launched by Jane, in collaboration with Greenpeace, in 2019.

The actress continued: "I’m especially happy because while my first four chemo treatments were rather easy for me, only a few days of being tired, the last chemo session was rough and lasted two weeks making it hard to accomplish much of anything. The effects wore off just as I went to D.C. for the first live, in-person Fire Drill Fridays rally."(sic)

She ended her post by writing: "Thanks for doing that and thanks for sending good wishes my way. I wish everyone a joyful, healthy Holiday."

Fans flocked to the comment section as they offered their well wishes to on-screen star. Erica penned: "Yay! Congratulations."

Meredith chimed: "Happy to hear about remission," as Fiorettie agreed: "I'm glad you're on the mend, Jane."

Steven added: "So glad to hear you're doing much better Jane. Please be safe and continue to recover."
