Jammu and Kashmir: Rajasthan based person held with Rs 9.60 lakh unaccountable cash in Ramban

JAMMU: Ramban Police on Tuesday recovered unaccountable cash amounting to Rs 9,60,000 from a person during checking. A case under section 102/457 CrPC was registered against the accused and he shall be produced before the court.

Police spokesperson said, "A police party during naka checking at about 5pm intercepted crey coloured WagonR (JK01-K-0732) which was subjected to thorough checking."

"During checking of the car, cash amounting to Rs Nine Lakh Sixty Thousand (Rs 9,60,000/-) was recovered from the bag of Radhe Syam son of Rachpal Singh a resident of Vivekananda Nagar Sector-3 Pushpa Colony Sonava Ki Doongri Alwar Rajasthan, who was one of the three occupants in the car", said the police.

Pplice said, "Cash recovered is suspected to be stolen or otherwise and on enquiry, Radhe Syam was unable to explain satisfactorily the source of huge cash i.e. from where he brought such huge cash which created suspicion that the recovered cash could be stolen or otherwise"

Police said, "The recovered cash was seized on spot and income tax department has been informed to ascertain the source of recovered cash and corresponding tax liability.

The overall recovery was carried out by police party headed by Insp Padam Dev Singh SHO P/S Chanderkote under the supervision of Pardeep Singh Sen DySP Hqrs Ramban with the overall supervision of SP Ramban, Ms Mohita Shama, IPS, Police added.
