Jamie Webster made a mistake all Scousers can relate to ahead of his performance at Glastonbury later today.
The Liverpool-born musician was interviewed live at the festival on BBC Breakfast this morning. He spoke about his love of Worthy Farm, having made the journey from festival goer to performer in what has been a meteoric rise for the singer over the last few years. His powerful and honest songs in his two full albums have made him a popular musician nationwide.
Jamie said: "I’ve been here three times a punter so I've been on this side of the fence plenty of times before, but last year was my first time playing. Every time you come back you get a little bit more attached to it."

He added: "I’ve got friends here who I only see at Glastonbury every year, it's an unbelievable place. Just look around no other festivals have got this much going on."
He also said he agreed with the rumour that the Foo Fighters, or their founder Dave Grohl, will take up one of this years mystery slots. This has garnered traction because of The Churnups band, who do not seem to exist, appearing on the line-up. Dave Grohl used to be in a band called Churn.
Jamie also stoked more speculation that Blossoms or Rick Astley might be seen on the WoodSIES stage tomorrow, as he had heard rumours that the pair will be performing cover songs from The Smiths. When asked about his thoughts about Elton John headlining this year, Jamie admitted he was a "massive fan" of Elton and had been to see him live in Liverpool.
He said: "It probably don’t look too cool saying that on television but you know what, there's probably not many better song writers than Elton John and Bernie Taupin. I went to see him with my mum for mother’s day in the Echo Arena in Liverpool."
Jamie quickly corrected himself and called it the M&S Bank Arena, which took over the naming rights in 2019 from the ECHO. Its official account thanked him in an Instagram post with #NotEchoArena.
Jamie went on to praise Elton's live show last March, arguing that those at Glastonbury will be "in for a treat". He said: "He was absolutely fantastic. His voice was unbelievable, the show was amazing, the production was amazing, his band was amazing.
Jamie will be performing at the Avalon Stage from 3.35pm to to 4.35pm. He will also be performing at the Pier Head's On The Waterfront festival later this month in two sold-out shows.
Popular Merseyside acts Camelphat, The Coral and Red Rum Club will also be there, alongside legendary Manchester band James.
