Hearts are weighing up a move for Irish international Jamie McGrath.
The Tynecastle club are keeping tabs on the 26-year-old, who has returned to Wigan this summer after a loan spell at Dundee United. McGrath previously enjoyed success in Scotland’s top flight with St Mirren before earning a £150,000 move south to the Latics in January last year.
He bagged nine goals at Tannadice last term from midfield, despite United being relegated. McGrath is proven at this level and with just a year left on his Wigan deal. Steven Naismith is monitoring his situation. Hearts are keen to strengthen after losing Josh Ginnelly last week. They remain interested in Central Coast Mariners winger Sammy Silvera. But McGrath, capped eight times, is on their wish list too. The Jambos are back in pre-season training ahead of the domestic season and European qualifiers later this summer.
