Jamie Foxx's family 'preparing for the worst' as he remains hospitalised after health scare

Jamie Foxx 's family and friends are "hoping for the best but preparing for the worst," according to a source close to his inner circle.

The actor was rushed to hospital due to a medical complication while working on his upcoming Netflix feature, Back In Action, alongside Cameron Diaz and Glenn Close.

His daughter Corinne shared an Instagram statement about the health scare last month, writing: "We wanted to share that my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday.

"Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery. We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers," the statement read in addition. "The family asks for privacy during this time."

Last week, Jamie's condition was said to have improved, with sources claiming doctors are doing more tests before allowing him to leave and have advised him to "keep his stress level down".

"Jamie is stable and not in a life-threatening situation now," the source told People. "[Doctors] are doing more tests and want to be completely sure that he will be okay before allowing him to leave the hospital."

Although Jamie is "healing" and "feeling the love" from all of his supporters and well wishers, details on the situation have remained under wraps.

Sources told Radar that he's "doing OK and improving, while doctors try to get to the bottom of his problems," but he "wouldn’t be in a hospital this long if he was anything close to OK."

Sources say Jamie is "lucky to be alive" (WireImage)

They added that Jamie's recovery has been "touch and go" and at one stage he "had to be revived" by emergency room physicians who saved the actor. "He is very lucky to be alive!” said the source.

A second insider has stated that the hard-working Jamie suffers from high blood pressure which can cause clots in the brain and lead to a stroke. Another source shared that the actor's health crisis was "a long time coming."

"He’s very lucky he got the treatment he did," they said. “His friends and family are hoping for the best — but preparing for the worst!"
