Jamie Foxx remains in hospital a week after ‘medical complication’

Actor Jamie Foxx remains in hospital a week after the actor was admitted following a 'medical complication'. Fans were left concerned by his loved ones' announcement about his health last week.

In a fresh update from the family, Foxx is said to be 'steadily improving. A source reassured fans that the Day Shift actor was 'on the mend' after he was hospitalised following a medical issue last week.

The Oscar-winning actor, known for films including Django Unchained, Collateral and Ray, was treated with 'great care' following the unspecified incident on Tuesday last week. Sharing the news on social media, his daughter Corinne Foxx, said the family was grateful for fans' support and asked for privacy.

"We wanted to share that my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday," she wrote in a post on Instagram. "Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery. We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time. Much love, The Foxx Family."

Ms Foxx did not share any further details of what had occurred. Representatives for the actor have been approached for comment. TMZ confirmed: "We're told his condition was serious enough that Jamie's family - some of whom were not in town - came to the hospital. One source told us, 'He's communicating now, and that's good news'."

It comes as he shoots a new film with Cameron Diaz. Speaking about the project previously, Cameron said: “He’s so great, he’s so easy, he’s so professional, he’s so talented. And just being able to work with him, it’ll be so much fun.”

Jamie said of working with the Charlie's Angels legend: "We just begged and pleased on my knees, like, 'Just give the people one more again. We love her, we've been waiting on her and this is just gonna be fantastic."
