The 55-year-old was hospitalised was last month due to "medical complications" while filming for his upcoming movie, Back In Action, as told by his daughter Corinne in an Instagram statement.

"We wanted to share that my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday," she wrote on behalf of the Foxx family at the time.

"Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery. We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers," the statement read in addition. "The family asks for privacy during this time."

Meanwhile, Jamie's condition is said to have improved, with sources claiming doctors are doing more tests before allowing him to leave and have advised him to "keep his stress level down".

"Jamie is stable and not in a life-threatening situation now," the source told People. "[Doctors] are doing more tests and want to be completely sure that he will be okay before allowing him to leave the hospital."

As he prepares to be discharged, the insider added that hospital is "the last place Jamie wants to be" despite his need for medical care.
