Porscha Coleman has said her co-star Jamie Foxx is "resting and well" amid his recent health struggles.
The 37-year-old actress, who starred alongside Jamie on the Netflix series Dad Stop Embarrassing Me!, said he "is going to be back" to acting when he has fully recovered.
Jamie, 55, was hospitalised back in April after experiencing a "medical complication" while filming his upcoming movie, Back In Action.
The Hollywood star was later released from hospital before being admitted to a physical rehabilitation facility in Chicago.
Jamie and his family have mostly remained tight-lipped about what caused his hospitalisation.
Porscha appeared on the red carpet of the BET Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday night where she gave an update on her close friend and admitted that he has always been a private person.
"I've talked to people very close to Foxx, [he] is doing well. I hate that the media outlets kept running with the narrative of what was going on without having the proper information.
"He's resting. He's well. And he's going to be back. Trust and believe," she told Entertainment Tonight.
She added: "If you've noticed, Jamie Foxx has always been on the low. Even when it came to dating. Once I heard the news, of course I reached out, but how Foxx is doing it is how Foxx should be doing it."
Porscha's comments come after one of Jamie's family members said he is on the road to recovery.
Speaking to Page Six, the family member said Jamie is "recovering well", however they said the future of his upcoming movie Back In Action is up in the air.
They also said there is mounting concern that the silence surrounding Jamie's health scare could affect his acting career.
Jamie's family haven't released much information about his health, however, his daughter Corinne Foxx did reveal back in May that her father was now well enough to play pickle ball.
