Jamie Carragher has insisted that Tottenham will rank higher than Liverpool in the Premier League this season despite the demolition of Manchester United. Jurgen Klopp's side brought the Red Devils' 11-game unbeaten streak to an end as they ran riot at Anfield, putting seven past the visitors.
But, despite Liverpool's jaw-dropping display, Carragher has conceded that Spurs are still better placed to finish higher in the table. Antonio Conte's side sit fourth in the Premier League on 45 points; three points ahead of the Merseyside club, who sit fifth and have a game in hand.
While Klopp's side appear to be well-placed in the run-in for the top-four, the Sky Sports pundit argued that Tottenham have a favourable set of fixtures compared to the Reds. The north Londoners will face four of the current top-eight in their remaining 12 games — Brighton, Newcastle, Liverpool and United.

Meanwhile, the Reds are set to face just three of the current top-eight in the Premier League — reigning champions Manchester City, league-leaders Arsenal and Spurs — as well as Chelsea. Speaking on The Gary Neville Podcast, Carragher said: "I think there’s probably a better feeling around Liverpool, even though I think Tottenham, this season, have probably performed better on a lot of occasions.
"I still favour Tottenham, because I’ve actually looked right at the fixture list and they’ve got a lot more favourable fixtures than Liverpool do."
However, Carragher hasn't entirely ruled out Liverpool in the race for top-four. Speaking on Sky Sports, he said: "Manchester United were so bad in that second half and Liverpool were so good.
"Liverpool felt like the way they were a few years ago. [It was] just a shock all around for Manchester United. When you see Liverpool put in a performance like that, you think how have they been that bad for that much of the season?
"It's an embarrassing result for United, when you win by six or seven, it's almost like United become the story. For Liverpool, it gives them a huge lift in getting them into the top four.
"Getting in the top four will be huge in terms of recruitment. Next week away at Bournemouth won’t be easy, and then they’ve got a really tough week."
