Pundit Jamie Carragher has responded to suggestions he was involved in an exchange with Nottingham Forest fans at the City Ground.
The Liverpool legend was covering the Premier League clash between the Reds and Tottenham Hotspur last weekend. Footage has emerged on social media which seems to show him being involved in an exchange with some Forest supporters as he makes his way through the stadium.
Carragher was approached for comment and told The Mirror: “I was being escorted from one part of the City Ground to another, past some vocal fans with plenty of heckling. For me, no harm was intended from either side.”

The match ended in a 2-0 defeat for Steve Cooper’s side, with Harry Kane bagging a brace for the visitors. The Reds have four points from their first five games, following their return to the top-flight after a 23-year absence.
Carragher recently commented on Forest’s busy summer transfer window, saying it will have other teams worried. Speaking several days before the window closed, he said: "Just because you spend doesn't mean you'll stay up, but I think you look at what's going on here and you'll be panicking, nervous before the transfer window closes.
"If you see the team Nottingham Forest have outspent, Barcelona, it goes back to why teams are terrified of the Premier League and why foreign teams want that Super League.” He added: "I think the start Forest and Fulham have made, they'll be seriously scaring people who've been floating around relegation for the last few years."
