Jamie Carragher has highlighted the importance of the save Alisson Becker made during the 2-0 win over Arsenal at the Emirates on Wednesday night in the Premier League.
The Reds closed the gap to Manchester City at the top of the table to just a single point thanks to second-half goals from Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino. But Arsenal would have gone in front had Alisson not spread himself to pull off a fine stop to deny Alexandre Lacazette when the game was all-square at 0-0.
And former Liverpool defender Carragher believes Jurgen Klopp's side may be able to look back at that moment as a defining one if they do go on and win the title this season.

" That moment was absolutely huge. I think that the most impressive thing about it is not the save, but that he does not do anything stupid and panic. So often we see goalkeepers in this situation give a penalty away and there’s a panic, but he just acts like a normal defender," said Carragher.
"If Liverpool go on and win the league title... I can picture a save Peter Schmeichel made against Newcastle when they (Manchester United) went on and won the title, and the saves Neville Southall made when they (Everton) won the title... and that will live long in the memory of those Liverpool supporters should they go on and win the league."
