Jamie Carragher has picked Liverpool duo Trent Alexander-Arnold and Jordan Henderson in his World Cup squad.
Both Reds players will learn of their fate later this week, with Gareth Southgate set to announce his 26-man travelling party on Thursday. Both now have just one more game - tonight's Carabao Cup tie against Derby - to make any final impressions, with the Three Lions kicking off their campaign in Qatar on Monday, November 21 against Iran.
The pair have both seen their place in the final squad come under threat in recent weeks, with the Henderson's fitness under the microscope after he limped off in the 3-0 Champions League win at Ajax a fortnight ago, while Alexander-Arnold continues to fall out of favour under Southgate as fellow right-backs Kieran Trippier, Reece James and Kyle Walker impress.

But injuries to the latter pair have cast into doubt their availability for the upcoming tournament, and if the Three Lions boss is to name either on Thursday, he will do so having not seen them play since their respective rehabilitation programmes. For Henderson, it will have always been a question of fitness, with the experienced midfielder a favourite of Southgate's and built for major tournament pressure.
And former Reds star Carragher has opted to pick both in his 26-man list, with the sidelined Chelsea full-back James missing out. The ex-England international has opted for a versatile defensive pack, picking the likes of Trippier, Ben White and Walker who can all play in more than one position.
Henderson will be the experienced head of the midfield selection alongside Declan Rice, Mason Mount, Jude Bellingham, Kalvin Phillips and James Maddison.
And despite a recent purple patch, Newcastle United striker Callum Wilson has been left out in favour of Roma's Tammy Abraham and Brentford's Ivan Toney.
Carragher's full World Cup squad:
Goalkeepers: Jordan Pickford, Aaron Ramsdale, Nick Pope
Defenders: Trent Alexander-Arnold, Ben White, Kyle Walker, Kieran Trippier, John Stones, Eric Dier, Harry Maguire, Conor Coady, Luke Shaw
Midfielders: Declan Rice, Jude Bellingham, Jordan Henderson, Mason mount, James Maddison, Kalvin Phillips
Forwards: Harry Kane, Tammy Abraham, Ivan Toney, Marcus Rashford, Raheem Sterling, Phil Foden, Bukayo Saka, Jack Grealish
