Jamie Carragher has detailed the conversation he had with former Liverpool sporting director Michael Edwards that left him 'startled'.
The executive was at the helm at Anfield during the Reds' rise to the pinnacle of European and English football under Jurgen Klopp. It became clear that Edwards was one of the masterminds behind the astute business that brought Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Alisson Becker - to name a few - to the six-time Champions League winners.
Said trio have been at the forefront of Liverpool's battle for major club honours and Edwards departed his role last summer, after announcing he was stepping down in November 2021.
