Jamie Carragher and Micah Richards agree on Chelsea's Premier League aims amid Man City's slip

Jamie Carragher and Micah Richards have seemingly snubbed Chelsea in the Premier League title conversation after Man City's shock loss to Tottenham.

The Blues had done what they needed to do earlier in the day with their battling 1-0 win against Crystal Palace in the London derby courtesy of Hakim Ziyech's lone goal.

They nearly had a favour from Norwich City who had taken a shock lead at Anfield only for Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz to turn the whole game on its head.

Then it was Man City's turn as they were heavily tipped to defeat a Spurs side who were coming into this affair on the back of consecutive home defeats against Southampton and Wolves respectively.

However, Harry Kane, Dejan Kulusevski and Son Heung-min had different ideas as all three helped Antonio Conte to a famous win in East Manchester against all the odds.

After all the action came to an end of Saturday, the state of the Premier League title race was analysed by Carragher and Richards and despite being offered up an opening, the European and World Champions were ignored in this conversation by the punditry duo.

Currently, Chelsea are in third place - seven points off Liverpool and 13 off the Cityzens, despite having one more game in hand over the Champions League runner-ups of last term.

"It’s in Liverpool’s favour now, if they come here and win the game and do the rest that they need to do in the Premier League," Richards said as he completely disregarded Chelsea from this conversation.

"I said before the game don’t be complacent. It wasn’t just about City, Spurs were excellent today but I just thought City knew that were Spurs were going to drop deep and come on the counter attack and played into their hands."

Carragher followed up these comments in a similar way by ignoring the west London giants in this conversation just like the former City defender did.

"It’s not just a massive day for the top four race but the title race. A tantalising prospect with Liverpool still to come to the Etihad," he said.

Tuchel himself won't be too surprised to hear both ignore his side in this conversation with him admitting earlier in the week that the gap to City was too big at the time.

On top of this, his admission after the Crystal Palace win was more focussed on how he can potentially bridge the gap to Liverpool in second and eventually leapfrog them before the end of the season despite Luis Diaz' impressive impact.

The Blues coach said: "Unfortunately, we don’t play them again. I don’t know the results but they look strong. It is what it is. They got a huge player in winter to make their squad stronger and it is how it is.

"But we will not give in. I will not tell you that it is impossible to catch them but there’s no other way than to improve our game and style and to win game after game, to start winning consecutive games.

"There’s no point in looking to Man City or Liverpool or looking behind. We have enough to deal with and enough to improve. From there we start."

Man City will have a chance to quash any title race worries when they are the only side out of the current top three to play next weekend as they travel to Goodison Park whilst the other two compete in the Carabao Cup final.

Both Liverpool and Chelsea will be hoping for a favour from Frank Lampard's stuttering side in that game next weekend as the Toffees look to bounce back from their disappointing 2-0 loss against Southampton and at the same time, really reignite the title race in a proper fashion.
