The game between Lewiston High School and Edward Little High School or nearby Auburn was postponed Friday after the senseless killings of 18 people in the Maine city.
On Wednesday, “The Battle of the Bridge” took place.
Prior to kickoff, the national anthem was performed by James Taylor.

“Words cannot express the tremendous grief our communities are experiencing over the tragedy of this past week,” a speaker said over the public address system. “As a community we are stunned. We mourn the tragic loss of lives and injuries, and our deepest sympathies go out to the victims, their families, and friends.”
Then the announcer read out the names of the 18 who were killed, saying, “Let us not forget these names.”
Actor Will Ferrell did a hype video.
