James Tavernier has challenged Rangers to bounce back from their Old Firm hammering by getting off to the perfect start in the Champions League against Ajax.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst's side have already won in the Netherlands this season as they dumped PSV in their own back yard to reach this stage of Europe's premier competition. That result will have the home side on alert as the Light Blues bid to put behind the 4-0 defeat at Celtic in tonight's showdown.
The skipper has revealed meetings took place following the defeat at Parkhead and there is fire in the belly to go and rectify what happened Saturday lunchtime. He says from the first whistle in Amsterdam the players will be looking to put in a performance that deserves credit for that team and also makes the supporters proud. Reflecting on the defeat to Celtic and looking forward to Ajax, the Rangers skipper said: "As a squad, win, draw, lose, we all look back on how we can improve. This was the same. As a squad we openly speak and the staff and the boss put the points across.

"It's something we always go through no matter what the scoreline is and we know it's something we need to put right.
"I say that all the time, even when we win games and the performance hasn't been good enough.
"There is always fire there to rectify that and we want to perform better. We demand that on the training pitch every day.
"We want to rectify what happened at the weekend and get back to the standard we know we can get to.
"Obviously we were disappointed with what happened. We've all had meetings on it and had a look back on the game and how we played.
"But the good thing about European football is you have a midweek game and can really bounce back to the performances you want to do, to rectify things.
"From the first whistle we'll be trying to put the performance in that deserves credit for the team and put in the performance for the fans."
