James Tavernier reveals Rangers hunch ahead of Scottish Cup Final as he insists he saw Ryan Jack heroics coming

Jubilant Rangers skipper James Tavernier revealed he had a hunch that Ryan Jack would have a major say in his side's Scottish Cup triumph.

The Scotland midfielder has only recently shaken off the injury issues that cost him the best part of a year out.

But he blasted away his fitness frustrations but smashing home the extra-time opener that send Rangers on their way to victory at Hampden.

Fellow former Aberdeen recruit Scott Wright sealed the 2-0 win over Hearts which claims the Light Blues' first Scottish Cup success since 2009.

And Tavernier could not hide his delight as he shrugged off Wednesday's Europa League heartache in Seville.

He said: "It's beautiful. You know, it's been a disappointing week because we really wanted to push over the line in the Europa.

"But to finish this off and finish the season with a trophy is the main thing.

"We knew if we took them to extra-time we were fitter than them. We kept going, kept pushing and we (did it).

"It was an unbelievable strike from Jacko. I said to him at breakfast before the game, 'You'll have a part to play today'.

"Then it was Scotty with a great strike. It's unbelievable."
