James Milner is set to sign a new one-year deal at Liverpool, snubbing offers from the Premier League and abroad to remain at Anfield.
The 36-year-old has been a key member of Jurgen Klopp's side since arriving on a free transfer from Manchester City seven years ago, with his versatility and professional attitude making him an invaluable individual for a team continuing to chase trophies.
Milner has claimed six major trophies during his time with the Reds but has seen playing time gradually reduce over time, taking on a more sporadic yet important role within the team.

Many had hoped to see the three-time Premier League winner remain on Merseyside, which is now looking to be the case ahead of the 2022/23 season.
The ECHO understands the veteran midfielder is expected to ignore proposals from elsewhere to remain at the club, albeit on 'significantly reduced terms'.
Milner is understood to have turned down an offer of a two-year deal from two Premier League clubs and one MLS side, according to the Athletic, with confirmation of the new contract expected later this week.
It will be good news for Klopp, who said back in February: “The level [Milner] is at, physically, technically and in terms of personal desire and hunger for more, means he should play on for as long as that lasts. I hope it will be here and that is what I have told those at the club who take on these tasks."
Another player who could be in line for a new deal is Joe Gomez. The ECHO last month reported Liverpool would look to tie down the 25-year-old with fresh terms, which could soon become a possibility despite ongoing speculation over his long-term future.
The Times add that contract talks are 'on the agenda' with the defender, who has two years remaining on his present package.
