Their hopes of finishing in the Champions League places were dealt another huge blow after they had been handed a lifeline by Tottenham and Arsenal who both lost at the weekend. The official Liverpool Twitter account tweeted the video of the former Whites midfielder’s reaction to the goal and, unsurprisingly, it gained plenty of traction on social media.

The home side went on to score another couple of unanswered goals to ensure their aggregate score for the season against their rivals stood at 9-0, the largest in the Premier League history of the fixture. As for Milner, he was introduced from the bench with less than five minutes left of the match but he still would have been grinning from ear to ear with his Leeds allegiances surely in the back of his mind.
