James McClean's son has taken his first steps towards following in his father's footballing footsteps by signing with Crewe Alexandra.
The Republic of Ireland player shared a picture of his beaming son, Junior James, on Instagram as he signed his youth contract.
"Wee mans first contract," the proud father wrote. His wife Erin also shared the picture and her pride at her son's accomplishments. "Proud of you son," she wrote.

"I’ve seen just how hard you’ve worked on your football this year and it’s paid off.
"Now this just means you’ve gotta work even harder lol. Happiest boy on the planet today."
Crewe currently play in League Two of the English football league system and finished 13th last season.
James McClean has played for Sunderland, Wigan, West Brom, Stoke and the Republic of Ireland at international level.
The Derry man started out at his native Derry City FC before crossing the water to follow his footballing dream in England.
