James McClean and wife Erin celebrate six-year wedding anniversary

Republic of Ireland winger James McClean and his wife Erin celebrated their six-year wedding anniversary over the weekend as the pair took to social media to pay tribute to each other.

The happy couple did so by posting a series of pictures celebrating their time together.

Wigan Athletic winger McClean posted a picture of himself and Erin taken during their wedding ceremony back in 2016.

He posted the picture to his Instagram account with the caption reading: "6 years @erinmcclean1"

Erin also took to social media to pay tribute to McClean, 33, as she posted a series of snaps from their special day back in 2016.

The couple first got together back in 2010, when they met in their hometown of Derry.

Wedding bells followed six years later and the couple now have three kids together; Allie May, James Jr and Willow Ivy.

James McClean has been involved with the Republic of Ireland senior team for the last 10 years, making his debut way back in 2012.

He has scored 11 goals for the Republic and has amassed 91 caps in total.

His most memorable moment in a green shirt came in 2017 when he notched a crucial goal against Wales in a World Cup qualifier.

At club level, McClean has most recently enjoyed promotion to the SkyBet Championship as part of the Wigan Athletic side who topped the League One standings for the 2021/22 season.

A 3-0 victory on the final day of the season against Shrewsbury ensured the Latics promotion - and it marked the third time in seven seasons the club had finished top of League One.

McClean signed for Wigan in 2013 and he will now play a part in the club's bid to remain in the Championship next season; the Latics just about avoided relegation to League Two just last season.
