Celebrity chef James Martin was told to "shut up" by a celebrity guest during his ITV cooking show over a comic kitchen blunder.
Eternal singer Louise Redknapp was a guest on James Martin's Saturday Morning on ITV to discuss her music comeback, but it was her quirky name for a kitchen appliance that caught the attention of viewers and James.
Revealing she refers to a deep fat fryer as a "fryer machine", a gobsmacked James even offered to buy the singer one in a kind gesture that saw her affectionately tell the chef to "shut up" as she didn't believe he would.
During the cooking segment, James used the deep-fat fryer for a recipe as Louise asked him if a person could still make the dish without a deep-fat fryer. She asked: "Can you do that if you don't have a frying machine?"
A bemused James responded: "A frying machine?"
Louise laughed as James teased: "Do I have to go back to raw basics with this?"
As Louise continued to laugh a generous James offered to buy the singer her own deep-fat fryer to recreate the recipe at home. He said: "If you haven't got a frying machine.
"I'll tell you what I'll do, while your mother is tucking into some wine, I will get you a fryer as a present from me to you."
Shocked at his generous offer, Louise told the celebrity chef and TV presenter to "shut up" as she said, "Oh shut up! Next time I'm on, I'll be like this" and made a gesture of putting on weight.
It appears the gesture wasn't an empty one as James promised: "Not this one. I need this one but I'm going to send you a fryer."
Louise joined James for his ITV cooking show alongside her mum, as she revealed her mum was a huge fan of the TV chef.
As James began to cook one of the dishes from his cookbooks, he quipped: "These are classic courgettes, I’m doing it slowly because I know your mum’s watching this so she can check this out as well."
James continued: "I feel under pressure now! But we’ve got in here our courgettes which you put in the milk and then the flour but in the flour I’ve got just a bit of fresh thyme as well."
James Martin’s Saturday Morning airs on Saturdays at 9:25am on ITV.
