James Martin sparks concern with hospital dash as he's supported by fans

James Martin has sparked concern among fans as he shared how he had ended up in hospital - just after taking his dog to the vets for an operation. The celebrity chef revealed that he too was having to undergo surgery as he shared an image from hospital on social media.

Sharing a picture of his Lhasa Apso alongside a sign on a hospital room that read, "MRI Suit," James cryptically wrote: "Seems as if we are both getting old fella! Dropped him off for an op this morning, now it seems I need one."

The Saturday Kitchen star didn't share any more info on what had happened to him but fans were quick to flood to the comments with worry and support for James and his pet pooch.

@lynn.banks6 commented: "Awww sending love and big hugs to you both, hope it's nothing too serious for either of you James." @patriciaannelester added: "Get well soon Ralph and James do hope that all will be good news for you take care

A few hours later, James thanked fans for their support and shared an update in the comments section of his original post: "Thank you for all your messages, very kind. Ralph is ok and out and on the mend cheers. Me on the other hand well, we will see."

James made an appearance on Loose Women last week where he spoke about his dramatic three-stone weight loss, telling the panel he made one key switch to his diet.

The 50-year-old said: "I don't drink tea or coffee so fizzy drinks were always sort of my nemesis really and in the kitchen particularly. We found that in Covid I wasn't concentrating and getting this massive sugar rush, so I just swapped to water… The minute I swapped to water, it was nearly three stone."
