Jason Maddison should swerve a move to Tottenham this summer and instead prioritise a transfer to Newcastle United. That is the view of Gabby Agbonlahor, who believes the lure of Champions League football should prove decisive for the Leicester City star.
Maddison has enjoyed another fine season despite the Foxes' relegation to the Championship, registering 10 goals and nine assists in the Premier League. The 26-year-old also earned a place in England's World Cup squad, and looks certain to move this summer with just one year left on his contract at the King Power Stadium.
Newcastle failed with two offers last summer, and have been tipped to revive their interest in the playmaker in the upcoming window. Tottenham are also considered among the frontrunners to sign Maddison, but former Aston Villa striker Agbonlahor feels the attacking midfielder will favour a move to join Eddie Howe's side.
