Los Angeles Clippers guard James Harden made history on Sunday night by surpassing Basketball Hall of Famer Ray Allen to claim the No. 2 spot on the NBA's all-time 3-pointers list. Harden's record-breaking 2,974th 3-pointer came during the first quarter of the game against the Utah Jazz, solidifying his position in the league's elite shooters.

Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors currently holds the top spot on the list with an impressive 3,782 3-pointers. Harden's achievement is particularly noteworthy as he accomplished this feat in just 1,086 games, significantly fewer than the 1,300 games it took Allen to reach 2,973 3-pointers.

Clippers coach Tyronn Lue praised both Harden and Allen for their exceptional shooting abilities, highlighting their impact on the game. Harden joins an exclusive group of players who have made 300 3-pointers in a single season, a list that includes Curry and Klay Thompson.

In addition to his 3-point prowess, Harden also ranks 15th in career points and 13th in assists in NBA history. LeBron James is the only other player to feature in the top 15 across all three categories, underscoring the versatility and skill set of these basketball legends.

Ray Allen previously held the record for most 3-pointers made until Curry surpassed him during the 2021-22 season. Allen's milestone achievement occurred during the 2010-11 season when he surpassed Reggie Miller to claim the top spot on the list.

James Harden's latest accomplishment further cements his legacy as one of the greatest shooters in NBA history, showcasing his impact on the game and his ability to consistently deliver from beyond the arc.
