James Gunn, co-chief executive of DC Studios and architect of the newly restructured DC Universe (DCU), is facing growing scrutiny following the release of Superman (2025) and the finale of Peacemaker Season 2.

The filmmaker, who also directed the latest Superman film, has found himself at the centre of online speculation as fans question his leadership and the direction of DCU movies.
