James Garner insists that he wants to remain at Manchester United this summer amid speculation that he could return to Nottingham Forest for the new Premier League season.
Garner returned to his parent club following an impressive second loan stint at the City Ground, as he contributed to the Reds' promotion to the Premier League. But his future looked all but certain following the arrival of new United boss Erik ten Hag.
While plenty of Forest fans would love him to return to Trentside, the 21-year-old is determined to prove he is capable of being a senior regular. Although ten Hag has been eyeing Barcelona's Frenkie de Jong, a move has so far proven difficult.

Having the opportunity to play a key role next season, Garner insisted: "Of course I want to be a United player. I think, even if you don’t play for United, I feel it is most people’s dream. That is obviously my aim this season and I’ve got to have a good pre-season and hopefully that happens.
When asked about his future ambitions, he said: "Probably the exact same answer: to be a United player. Ever since I was a little boy, I’ve grown as a player and a man, [and] I feel like my whole life has been in Manchester.
"I’ve lived in Manchester all this time, so it’s definitely something that I want to carry on with."
