James Corden has been hailed a 'model customer' after a top New York restauranteur accused him of "yelling like crazy" at his staff during a recent trip.
Balthazar New York owner Keith McNally branded the TV star was branded a "gifted comedian" but a "cretin of a man" in a now viral rant.
James was briefly banned from the foodie hotspot after reportedly shouting at staff, leaving one "shaken", over an omelette issue.
Now, at least two other restaurants in New York have come forward to praise the Gavin and Stacey actor, with one saying they 'can't imagine him being mean'.
Stratis Morfogen, who has opened 40 restaurants over the years in the big apple, says James is "one of the most pleasant and funny guys" he's ever served.
He said James was a "gracious tipper" when Stratis' team catered for him at a post-Grammy Awards event for Bruno Mars at his Brooklyn Chop House restaurant in 2018.
According to the businessman, James "was there singing songs with bartenders" and "yukking it up with staffers at the bar".
Also in James' corner is famed restaurateur Todd English who told TMZ every time he's served the talk show host, he's been "absolutely lovely" to everyone in the joint.
Head chef Todd, who has worked at Tony Awards afterparties, says the TV funnyman was always "incredibly personable" to him and his staff at Todd English's Olives in Las Vegas.
Balthazar owner Keith has now lifted the 44-year-old's ban from his restaurant, claiming James rang him up personally and "apologised profusely".
Taking to Instagram later on Tuesday evening, Keith admitted he was "feeling strange" as he headed out for dinner at his restaurant with his daughter.
He wrote: "With my daughter, Alice (in black) and her best friend, Margot Paisner, at Balthazar tonight.
"Feeling strange about the James Corden thing. On the one hand, he was definitely abusive to my staff, on the other hand, I feel really sorry for him right now. Like most cowards I want it both ways.
"F**k it, I’m going to get drunk."
The Mirror previously contacted James' representatives for comment.
