James Bye has teased there will be "some surprises" in his performance to the EastEnders theme tune when he takes to the dance floor on Strictly Come Dancing this weekend.
The actor, 38 – who has played Martin Fowler on the BBC soap since 2014 – and his dance partner Amy Dowden, 32, will perform a foxtrot to the theme on Saturday night.
The performance is part of this weekend's episode which will celebrate the broadcaster turning 100, with each couple dancing to iconic music related to BBC shows.
The theme to EastEnders is among those selected for the special, with James and Amy paying homage to the piece by Simon May and Leslie Osborne with their dance routine.
James has teased there will be a "some tricks" and "surprises" during the performance, discussing the routine with Ranvir Singh, 45, on ITV's Lorraine this morning.
He said: "I can't tell you how honoured I am to be representing EastEnders in such an iconic year. [And] to be doing something that's never been done on Strictly before".
"There's some tricks and it's not quite the normal EastEnders theme tune that everyone is going to expect. There's some surprises along the way," he added.

James said he's particularly "excited" about the performance because of the surprises, and added: "I think it's gonna be a really big night, not just for us but [for everyone]."
Amy described the routine as "an honour," explaining that viewers can expect "a bit of drama" as well as emotion. She added that she's felt the pressure to choreograph it well.
Her dance partner further commented that he "can't wait" for Saturday, saying that he is usually nervous about the show but feels "really excited" about this week's routine.
The episode celebrating the BBC will see other couples dance to theme music from shows like Casualty, Blue Peter, Grandstand, Doctor Who and even The Apprentice.
Strictly Come Dancing continues on Saturday night (October 22) on BBC One and BBC BBC iPlayer from 6.40pm. The results show will air the following evening from 6.45pm.
Lorraine airs weekdays on ITV and ITV Hub from 9am.
