Keith Lemon has admitted that James Argent’s performance in his new Dirty Dancing show brought him to tears and made him “hide” from E4 cameras.
The 48-year-old Celebrity Juice star, real name Leigh Francis, made the confession while chatting about his new dancing show The Real Dirty Dancing on Monday's instalment of Channel 4 ’s Steph’s Packed Lunch.
The 34-year-old former TOWIE star is one of the celebrities on the new reality show, which will see them immersed in the experience of the classic 1987 rom-com.
Set at Virginia's Mountain Lake Lodge, the real location for the film's fictional Kellerman's Lodge, the stars partner up and attempt to recreate classic scenes, including the legendary lift, in the hopes of being crowned The Real Dirty Dancing champions, Baby and Johnny.
Host Steph McGovern asked Keith which of the celebrities competing he thought audiences should look out for.
Dialling in from his home, Keith said: “They’re really good. I was really impressed with Arg from TOWIE and also Lee Ryan from Blue, who actually looks like Patrick Swayze forward slash young Bobby Davro.”
Steph replied with the follow-up question of which had been his favourite moment when taping the show.
Keith said that he teared up when Arg danced with Anthea Turner, the Blue Peter TV presenter making her small screen comeback on E4's The Real Dirty Dancing.
He continued: “I just thought, I’m going too soft. I think I hid, but it moved me. He’s had some troubles and he’s done really well. He does really well in this. Everyone does really well.”
He added: “I get emotional in my old age. I just cry at everything. I’m very sensitive - more sensitive in different areas of my body. My soul’s very sensitive.”
Keith will be hosting the show alongside The Pussycat Dolls singer Ashely Roberts and fellow contestants alongside Arg and Anthea include Geordie Shore star Marnie Simpson and Celeb Coach Trip alum Tom Malone Jr.
They will be joined by original Waterloo Road actress Chelsee Healey, stand-up comic Darren Harriott and YouTube star Saffron Barker.
Fans can also expect to see Radio DJ Verona Rose, University Challenge brainbox Bobby Seagull and Blue’s Lee Ryan.
The famous faces will put their best foot forward as they attempt to learn the legendary moves from the film against the backdrop of the picturesque lakeside spot.
The Real Dirty Dancing premiers on E4 on Monday February 21 at 9pm.
