The Cleveland Browns started a new left tackle in Dawand Jones on Sunday, and his quarterback Jameis Winston has high praise for the second-year player.
After a challenging start to his sophomore season, Jones returned to the starting lineup in Week 8 at left tackle, filling in for the injured Jedrick Wills Jr. Winston praised Jones for his solid performance against the Ravens, telling Camryn Justice, “I knew he would be prepared and ready because he can, and probably will, be one of the best tackles this NFL has seen.”

Jones initially started the season at right tackle while Jack Conklin recovered from a knee injury. Following a few uneven games, he was benched upon Conklin’s return as he adjusted after his own offseason knee injury.
With question marks at premium offensive positions for 2025, another emergence from Jones could provide an answer and much-needed stability for the Browns in the offseason.
