Jamal Edwards spoke of being inspired by his "proud" mum Brenda during his last appearance on Loose Women.
The music mogul - who has died at the age of 31 - appeared on the ITV show back in November alongside his mother Brenda, as he explained why he decided to start up SB.TV, a music platform which helped to kickstart the careers of many huge music stars including the likes of Ed Sheeran and Jessie J.
Jamal was awarded an MBE in 2015 for his services to music and during his appearance on the ITV show a few months ago, viewers noted how proud Brenda looked of her son.
Appearing on the show alongside his mum, Jamal chatted with panellists Gloria Hunniford, Charlene White and Jane Moore.
Asked what it was like coming to work with his mum, he said: "Bring your son to work day! It's a good feeling. I always watch my mum on the show, so it's good to actually be here in the flesh."
And when Brenda was asked how she felt about having her son with her, she admitted he was nervous.
"Even in the corridor today," Gloria shared, "She's like you shouldn't say that, you shouldn't do this. Once a mum, always a mum. I'm fascinated by SB.TV. Your mum's very proud of you as lots of people are.
"I'd love to know what the driver was when you were so young, 15 or whatever, to make you want that success."
Explaining why he started up SB.TV, he said: "My friends weren’t being represented in mainstream media, so that’s what inspired me. But obviously my mum's work ethic inspired me.
"I remember going to pub when she was doing karaoke and doing my homework there. She was always working very hard."
Brenda shared a heartbreaking tribute to her late son with Good Morning Britain today, where she opened up about the "deep heartache" she felt, after Jamal died from a "sudden illness".
"It is with the deepest heartache that I confirm that my beautiful son Jamal Edwards passed away yesterday morning after a sudden illness. Myself, his sister Tanish and the rest of his family and friends are completely devastated," she said.
"He was the centre of our world. As we come to terms with his passing, we ask for privacy to grieve this unimaginable loss. I would like to thank everyone for their messages of love and support. Jamal was an inspiration to myself and so many. Our love for him lives on, his legacy lives on. Long live Jamal Edwards MBE, MBA, PHD."
