Jamaal Williams is very good at football. Over six years in the NFL he’s racked up nearly 5,000 yards from scrimmage. His 17 rushing touchdowns in 2022 led the league. That earned him a three-year, $12 million contract with the New Orleans Saints this offseason.
But Williams doesn’t take the game too seriously, and he’s not letting his cash or expectations change him. He’s still the guy who dances his way through warmups and goes full Hingle McCringleberry with his hip-pumping touchdown celebrations. And, importantly, he’s still the guy who loves anime so much he’ll introduce himself on Sunday Night Football as “first Swagg Kazekage, leader of the hidden village of the Den.”
So upgrading his practice visor now that he’s a Saint was a logical step forward for the veteran tailback.

Williams’ new look was immediately met with a chorus of “let him wear it” Tweets. Sadly, that’s not an option — the league barely allows players to rock tinted visors on gameday, and even then they’ll need a medical exemption to do so. But in practice Williams is giving his new teammates the chance to recognize him even before looking down at his jersey number. He’s the running back with all the Naruto references.
Or Swaggdaddy, if you’re into the whole brevity thing.
