Nottingham Forest target Jamaal Lascelles is facing fresh doubts over his future.
Newcastle United want to sign a new centre-back this summer and Lascelles could become surplus to requirements if they are successful.
The Magpies captain came through the academy ranks at Forest and made his senior debut in the 2011-12 season. He made 66 appearances for the club before leaving for Newcastle in the summer of 2015.

He has already been linked with a return to the City Ground this summer, though insisted at the end of last season he still wanted to stay.
According to our colleagues at ChronicleLive, his "first choice" is to stay at Newcastle this summer but that choice may soon be taken out of his hands if Newcastle have a successful summer window.
Speaking at the end of March, Lascelles said: “I’d love to stay here for as long as possible. Who wouldn’t? I’m captain of the club and where things are going at the minute is a fantastic thing to be part of."
