Arsenal may have well found themselves a defensive gem in Jakub Kiwior. The £21million January signing is expected to play deputy to William Saliba and Gabriel at the heart of Mikel Arteta's defence in the second half of the season after impressing in Italy.
"Jakub is a player who will give us strength and quality to our defensive unit," Arteta said after Kiwior's switch. "We welcome Jakub and his family to Arsenal and look forward to working with him."
The Arsenal boss' desire to add a left footed centre-back to his squad was successfully accomplished last month with Kiwior arriving from Serie A side Spezia. First-choice duo Saliba and Gabriel have started all 19 of the Gunners' Premier League fixtures this season and the 22-year-old's arrival provides a valuable alternative.
