Arsenal are close to announcing their second signing of the January transfer window in the form of Polish centre-back Jakub Kiwior.
Belgian forward Leandro Trossard became the north London club's first signing of the winter window on Friday, joining from Brighton for a £21million fee plus add-ons, football.london understands. The Gunners have since wasted no time in closing in on their second deal of the month, with young defender Kiwior set to arrive from Serie A side Spezia.
The 22-year-old, who will provide competition for left-footed centre-back Gabriel Magalhaes, can also be utilised as a left-back and even as a defensive midfielder, featuring 18 times as a no.6 for Spezia last season. Now, the player's agent has spoken about how negotiations with Arsenal went, claiming that Mikel Arteta spoke to his client before the turn of the year.
