Jake Shears, Nicole Scherzinger, Jonathan Bailey on the 67th Evening Standard Theatre Awards podcast special

From the 67th Evening Standard Theatre Awards, this is The Standard Theatre Podcast.

London Theatre's biggest night of the year took place on Sunday at Claridge's hotel in central London.

It was a night that brought out all the stars from Tom Hiddleston to Hayley Atwell and Taylor Russell, from Jenna Coleman, David Tennant and Zawe Ashton to Billy Porter.

Hosted by Lord Lebedev and Ian McKellen the ceremony was brilliantly presented by actor, writer, comedian and Taskmaster star Susan Wokoma, who had the audience rolling in the aisles.

Legends including Nicole Scherzinger, Elton John and Sam Mendes were honoured, as was Ruth Wilson for her mammoth feat of acting non-stop for 24 hours opposite 100 different performers in The Second Woman at the Young Vic.

Our arts correspondent Rob Dex spoke to all of the winners backstage, some of whom you can hear in this very special episode.

Nancy and the Nicks chew over the results of the awards including Andrew Scott winning best actor for his one-man take on Vanya, and the surprise joint award for best actress of Patsy Ferran and Anjana Vasan. That decision, for their performances in A Streetcar Named Desire, went down very well in the room and with our presenters.

The hosts also talk about The Motive and the Cue, which won best play and Guys and Dolls which picked up best musical.

Jake Shears, from the Scissor Sisters and currently starring in Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club joins us to discuss this year's Unsung Heroes award, sponsored by our very own podcast.

Also Bridgerton, Company and Fellow Travellers star, who was this year's Voice of God at the awards ceremony, joins us to talk about this latest role.
