Jake Paul wants to overthrow UFC president Dana White amid furious row

Jake Paul is planning to add to his six-figure investment in the UFC's parent company as he plots to overthrow president Dana White.

The YouTuber-turned-boxer has been at war with UFC boss White over the past year, and last week announced that he had made an initial investment in Endeavor.

Paul's current stock percentage is a drop in the ocean of the company's multi-billion dollar operation, but he insists that it is just the beginning, and he is planning to engage other investors to make real change in the promotion.

Speaking on The MMA Hour, Paul explained what his intentions were behind the investment, and his plans going forward with the company.

"There is a saying - coup d'etat - it's an overthrow of the government or authoritative figure. I am trying to spark a coup d'etat. I want to be one of the figures involved in making changes,' he said.

"We invested a small amount, low six-figures, as a starting point to get our foot in the door.

"It's simple, we want to go in and push for everything in their company to be treated fairly and that's why Engine No.1 [an activist and investing fund] were brought into the picture because that's what they specialise in.

"They go in and look at company's ESG; Environmental, Social and Governance, and make sure that everything is up to speed.

"Are employees being treated right? How is the company ran? Is everything good, is pay fair? All that sort of thing.

"So that's what our intention is, we're currently starting to work on a white paper [informational document] to break down the Endeavor stock.

"What's good, what's bad, what are they doing wrong? This will be released to the public because we want to shake the tree.

"Let's look under the hood, now I'm an official owner, technically, of the UFC in a very small way, but now my foot's in the door and I will continue to shake the tree from all angles."

Engine No.1 have yet to officially agree to work with Paul on his mission, but he says that talks are underway to make big things happen after what many viewed as simply a troll effort or publicity stunt.

And he is also planning to head up a fighters' union for competitors in both MMA and boxing, aiming to help to improve conditions for all boxers and MMA fighters.

“For people that don’t think I’m serious about it, you’ll see,” Paul continued. “We’re talking to lawyers to begin a process to start a fighters' union.

"I’m not spending all my time and money - I could do anything.

"I made $45m this last year, I have a bada** girlfriend, I have Lamborghinis, I can go to the club, I could go to dinners, I could hang out with rappers, I could retire.

"I could do my crypto investments and give up on all this. I have everything I want in life, but what gives me a lot of pleasure is helping other people.

“I’ve noticed that it brings back more for me in the long run.

"For people to think I’m taking all this time out of my day to do all of these things behind the scenes, there’s so much stuff that people don’t even see.

"They see the interviews and they see me talk about it, but the actual nitty gritty, getting my elbows dirty, I’m in there.

"I’m in the weeds and people will see that.”
