Jake Paul is back beefing with Floyd Mayweather after calling out the 50-0 boxer once again following their rivalry last year.
The pair had a physical altercation at a press conference for Mayweather's exhibition bout with Jake's older brother Logan in May of 2021, with Mayweather declaring that he will "kill" the YouTuber-turned-boxer. Ultimately, Mayweather faced the elder Paul with no winner announced after a frustrating eight rounds of minimal action.
Since, the feud appeared to have gone cold with Mayweather confirming that he was retiring, even from exhibition bouts, and seemingly closing the chapter with the Pauls. But now he's back preparing to face Don Moore in May, while Paul is 5-0 as a professional and has once again called him out.
Here's the tale of the tape for the two boxing stars...
Jake Paul
There were few bigger social media stars than Logan and Jake Paul in the mid-to-late 2010s. Jake was a Disney Channel star making millions, while Logan was one of the most beloved creators on YouTube.
But in 2018, their fame was beginning to wane after a slew of controversies and the market beginning to saturate. Enter British YouTuber KSI. The rapper, whose real name is JJ Olatunji, took on fellow Brit Joe Weller in a white collar bout, and made sure to call out both Pauls after landing a TKO win.
Ultimately, Logan took up KSI's challenge, while Jake faced his younger brother Deji in a white collar bout in Manchester. Jake handily defeated the Watford native, and fell in love with the sport in the process.
Logan and KSI's rivalry wasn't settled in the main event, however, when a draw was called after six gruelling rounds. They had to get professional licences and drop the headgear to truly find a superior, with Jake following suit soon after.
After the success of KSI vs Logan Paul 2 on DAZN, the broadcaster were clamouring to get YouTubers back in the ring, and Jake Paul obliged with a Miami showdown against AnEsonGib. He took care of 'Gib' within a round.
He was supposed to face KSI later that year, but the coronavirus put paid to those plans, and Paul was forced to train in isolation as he plotted his next move. Eventually, he faced basketball star Nate Robinson, whom he demolished within two rounds in one of the most vicious knockouts of 2020.
He then began taking on MMA fighters in the boxing ring, calling out major names all the way from Bellator's Dillon Danis to former UFC heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier. When it came to taking the challenge, it was ex-ONE FC and Bellator champion Ben Askren, who stepped up.
Jake knocked Askren out within a round in the main event of a wacky debut card for Triller Fight Club that included musical performances from Justin Bieber, a slap-fighting contest hosted by WWE legend Ric Flair and Snoop Dogg joining Pete Davidson on commentary.
He then moved on to face ex-UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley twice, winning a split decision before a hastily arranged rematch when Tommy Fury pulled out of a planned fight. The second time, Paul viciously knocked the former world title holder out in the sixth round.
Paul is 6'1" with a 76" reach, and his career-highest weigh-in was just under 192lb for his debut against AnEsonGib in January of 2020. His lowest was for his white collar debut, when he managed to get down to just under 182lb. His record is 5-0 with 4KOs, and he is coached by former world cruiserweight title contender BJ Flores.
Floyd Mayweather
There's no celebrity background for boxing legend Floyd Mayweather. The multiple-weight world champion was ingrained in the sport from birth, with his dad a notorious former fighter as well as a family full of some of the brightest minds in the game.
Mayweather was a stalwart amateur, and managed to turn those impressive skills and work ethic into a spot at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta. He put together an 84-8 amateur record that included three wins to land a semi-final spot. There he was beaten by Serafim Todorov in a wildly controversial decision that saw him opt to turn professional immediately.
He quickly proved himself in the paid ranks, and would go on to completely rule them. He won 15 major world titles from super featherweight all the way to light middleweight and became lineal champion in four divisions.
The American established himself as simultaneously one of the greatest boxers in the sport's history and the highest-paid, putting on major pay-per-view events with Oscar de la Hoya, Shane Mosely and most famously Manny Pacquiao.
Mayweather retired a 50-0 professional with 27 KOs and 84-8 amateur. He is 5'8" with a 72" reach, and weighed in at a career-highest of 155lb when he faced Logan last summer after his previous record of 151 when he faced Miguel Cotto.
