Jake Paul vs Anthony Joshua LIVE: Result, latest updates and reaction after huge knockout

Mismatch: Anthony Joshua eventually proved far too strong for Jake Paul - (AFP via Getty Images)

Jake Paul vs Anthony Joshua LIVE!

Anthony Joshua got back to winning ways by knocking out Jake Paul in Miami. The former two-time unified world champion was initially frustrated by a YouTuber-turned-boxer in the first half of Friday night’s heavyweight mismatch shown live on Netflix, before rallying to produce four total knockdowns in two rounds including a brutal stoppage in the sixth as Paul was left needing to go to hospital for treatment on his jaw that was later revealed to be broken in two places.

Joshua admitted that it was far from his best display at Kaseya Center after 15 months out following elbow surgery, but vowed to improve quickly with the prospect of finally facing long-time rival Tyson Fury in 2026. Joshua immediately called out Fury after demolishing the brave Paul, telling him to “put down his Twitter fingers” and let his fists do the talking after their war of words escalated again this week.

MVP star Alycia Baumgardner successfully defended her unified super-featherweight titles against Leila Beaudoin in the co-main event, while Anderson Silva stopped Tyron Woodley early in a battle of UFC legends after Jahmal Harvey dominated Kevin Cervantes. Cherneka Johnson, Caroline Dubois and Yokasta Valle all retained their belts and there were also wins for debutant Keno Marley and Avious Griffin. Follow Jake Paul vs Anthony Joshua live below!

Jake Paul confirms jaw broken in two places after hospital trip

08:02 , George Flood

Jake Paul has now taken to social media from hospital, revealing an X-ray showing his jaw broken in two places.

“Double broken jaw,” he wrote on X. “Give me Canelo in 10 days.”

In another post, he wrote: “Jaw broken. Heart and balls intact.

“Time to rest, recover and return to cruiserweight.”

Paul had initially posted: “I was paid to lose? Hahaha.”

Anthony Joshua sends message to Tyson Fury

05:21 , George Flood

Joshua admits that wasn’t his best performance but says he doesn’t care what people think after 15 months out.

He knows he struggled to pin Paul down early there before eventually making his significant power felt and gives his opponent a lot of credit.

He then calls out Tyson Fury...

"If Tyson Fury is as serious as he thinks he is, and he wants to put down his Twitter fingers... step in the ring with me next if you're a real bad boy,” he says.

"Let's see you in the ring and talk with your fists."

Jake Paul believes he suffered broken jaw

05:19 , George Flood

Paul spits blood in his post-fight interview in the ring with Ariel Helwani and says he definitely thinks he broke his jaw.

No complaints though from Paul, who said that was a lot of fun but admits that he got his a*s whooped by “one of the best to ever do it”.

He now says he wants to go back to cruiserweight and compete for a world title in the future.

Pushed on who he might fight next, Paul says he wants a break first after pushing so hard over the last six years.

Anthony Joshua stops Jake Paul in sixth round

04:59 , George Flood

Down goes Paul again early in the sixth!

He’s up once more and signals to the referee that he wants to continue.

But he’s exhausted now and getting hit hard and often, with Joshua finally finding his groove.

A huge right hand lands from Joshua in the corner and sends Paul sinking to the canvas.

He won’t carry on after that and the fight is waved off!

It took much longer than expected, but Joshua has his knockout in round six.

There will be no colossal shock tonight.

Paul is ok and up on his feet, which is good to see.

Jake Paul vs Anthony Joshua - Round 5

04:55 , George Flood

Finally some action early in the fifth as Paul absorbs a thudding right hand.

Paul tries to fight fire with fire, but here comes Joshua again with another couple of stiff rights.

Paul looks to slip again but this time it’s ruled a knockdown!

And another quickly follows in the same circumstances!

Paul gets up at eight. For the love of God man, get your hands up.

Joshua is piling on the pressure now, trapping Paul in the corner at the end of the fifth and driving in some power shots with both hands.

Paul takes them before squirming away and hearing the bell.

Jake Paul vs Anthony Joshua - Round 4

04:51 , George Flood

Paul has enough confidence to try a couple of flurries early in the fourth.

He twice loses his footing under pressure from Joshua.

Make that three times, with the referee having already given him a warning.

Hang on that was a low blow from Joshua apparently, so he’s getting the necessary time to recover from the referee.

Where was the low blow there?!

Paul hits the deck yet again and now both men are warned by the referee.

Boos from a frustrated crowd at the end of the fourth.

A dreadful fight where nothing is happening, apart from Paul falling over repeatedly.

Regardless, this is not a good look for Joshua whatsoever.

Jake Paul vs Anthony Joshua - Round 3

04:46 , George Flood

Joshua is trying too hard here and he’s visibly frustrated as Paul alternates between avoiding him and then tying up repeatedly on the inside.

Paul is purely surviving and not really throwing anything, but he’s massively frustrating Joshua, who looks slow and ponderous so far.

He just can’t pin him down and another round passes with nothing of consequence landed by Joshua.

Neither man is really landing anything. A bizarre fight that is nearly at the halfway stage already.

Jake Paul vs Anthony Joshua - Round 2

04:41 , George Flood

Joshua narrowly misses with a couple of attempted big rights early in the second, Paul smiles in response.

Paul is moving around the ring well still, just about avoiding the big swings from Joshua and playing with fire by trying to rush him on the inside.

Joshua has now upped the tempo in chasing down Paul and measuring him up, though he can’t drive home the big right again there.

Still nothing significant landed from Joshua through two rounds.

He will be hugely frustrated.

Jake Paul vs Anthony Joshua - Round 1

04:38 , George Flood

Paul is on the move straightaway, looking to avoid that stiff Joshua jab at any cost.

Joshua is walking him down relentlessly, brushing off a couple of attempted rushes.

Paul lands the first real punch of the fight with an overhand right that finds the target.

The duo then tie up and fall messily against the white ropes.

Paul is jabbing Joshua to the body as he continues to move around the ring quickly.

Paul with a nice double jab on the inside, Joshua just can’t line him up yet... until a right hand lands and appears to have Paul in trouble for a moment against the ropes.

But he moves away and the bell sounds.

Here we go!

Jake Paul vs Anthony Joshua is underway.

How long will this last?

Final introductions

04:31 , George Flood

Just the final introductions coming now from Kody ‘Big Mo’ Mommaerts.

Then we’ll be underway at long last!

Jake Paul ring walk

04:29 , George Flood

Now it’s time for Jake Paul, who we already knew would be paying tribute to late wrestling legend Hulk Hogan with his ring walk tonight.

He’s got the familiar red and yellow Hulkamania outfit and sunglasses on.

6ix9ine raps alongside him as Paul bounces to the ring.

Anthony Joshua ring walk

04:26 , George Flood

Chants of “USA, USA” break out at Kaseya Center after The Star-Spangled Banner.

Here comes Joshua, ring-walking first in a camo-themed sleeveless robe and white gloves.

He looks in the zone.

04:20 , George Flood

It’s time for the national anthems at Miami’s now packed-out Kaseya Center.

God Save the King will be followed by The Star-Spangled Banner.

Then it’ll be time for the ring walks at last.

Jake Paul vs Anthony Joshua prediction

04:15 , George Flood

To repeat my prediction from earlier, I’m going for an emphatic Joshua stoppage in round two.

I can see it being similar to the Ngannou fight from last year, with AJ getting his bearings early and then quickly ramping up the pressure to force a vicious knockout.

The only difference being that Ngannou was floored three times in that fight.

I think the first time Paul goes down tonight, that will be it.

04:07 , George Flood

Right, let’s have those last-minute predictions then.

I still can’t quite believe this fight has been sanctioned.

Joshua’s reputation is on the line, anything less than a ruthless stoppage will be seen as a major embarrassment for the former two-time unified world heavyweight champion.

If he loses, he is finished. There is no two ways about it.

For Paul, it’s a bit of a free hit, really - no one expects him to have a prayer in what is a colossal, colossal challenge, so if he asks any genuine questions of Joshua then he will receive a lot of deserved credit.

But there has to be some genuine fear that he could get seriously hurt if Joshua is on form.

A Paul win here would be the biggest shock in boxing history bar none and would also rank very highly indeed among the biggest shocks in sporting history, full stop.

It couldn’t really happen, could it?

Alycia Baumgardner retains titles against Leila Beaudoin

03:50 , George Flood

Two judges score the bout 117-110 in favour of Baumgardner, while a third has it 118-109.

She easily keeps hold of her unified WBA, IBF and WBO super-featherweight titles after completing 12 three-minute rounds.

Plenty of heart shown by Beaudoin, but the gulf in class was considerable.

Baumgardner wants Caroline Dubois in future.

Alycia Baumgardner vs Leila Beaudoin

03:47 , George Flood

Too little, too late from Beaudoin, who tries to take the fight to Baumgardner again in the final round with some success as the two fighters engage in more furious close-range exchanges.

To the judges’ scorecards we go, with a comfortable points win surely on the way for Baumgardner.

(Getty Images for Netflix)

Alycia Baumgardner vs Leila Beaudoin

03:44 , George Flood

A surprisingly all-action 11th round as Beaudoin, to her immense credit, comes out swinging and connects with a thudding right to the forehead.

That gives her a bit of impetus at long last and she tries to tee off on Baumgardner, who fights fire with fire.

Suddenly the champion is not looking quite so comfortable.

Beaudoin has some serious heart and determination.

Alycia Baumgardner vs Leila Beaudoin

03:38 , George Flood

There is just nothing Beaudoin can do here, simply put.

Even her small pockets of fleeting success are being quickly combatted with smart and ruthless counters.

Baumgardner is just worlds away in terms of technical ability.

She’s staying disciplined and sticking to the gameplan, not taking any unnecessary risks, but still managing to showcase some impressive variety and combinations.

Can she go through the gears and up the tempo in the championship rounds in search of a late knockout?

Alycia Baumgardner vs Leila Beaudoin

03:32 , George Flood

Total control again from Baumgardner in the eighth.

Beaudoin has a lot of heart and determination and she’s still trying to throw plenty, but she’s not really in the same league as the champion who is so incisive, methodical and effective.

A huge gulf in class.

(Getty Images for Netflix)

Alycia Baumgardner vs Leila Beaudoin

03:27 , George Flood

Down goes Beaudoin late in the seventh!

She tries to set up her own attack off the jab but leaves herself wide open to a crunching overhand right that lands flush and sends her to the blood-spattered canvas.

The bell quickly sounds and she’ll have crucial time to recover, but this is a dominant clinic from Baumgardner at the moment.

A lot of damage to Beaudoin’s face.

Without the three-minute rounds, we wouldn’t have seen that knockdown.

Baumgardner will be grateful for the extra time to make her mark.

Alycia Baumgardner vs Leila Beaudoin

03:22 , George Flood

Beaudoin has started to enjoy some flashes of success behind the jab, but it’s few and far between.

Baumgardner is otherwise in total control, remaining disciplined and composed and methodically putting these rounds in the bag.

Beaudoin is really marked up.

Alycia Baumgardner vs Leila Beaudoin

03:14 , George Flood

Beaudoin slips to the canvas midway through the fourth but it wasn’t a knockdown.

Despite being the constant aggressor on the front foot, she’s struggling to make any inroads whatsoever against the champion, who is content to carry on sinking in those effective counters.

It may not be exciting, but it’s certainly effective.

(Getty Images for Netflix)

Alycia Baumgardner vs Leila Beaudoin

03:10 , George Flood

Baumgardner is certainly on top through three rounds here, mostly choosing to counter sharply, but it’s not the most exciting fight and the crowd aren’t engaged.

Alycia Baumgardner vs Leila Beaudoin

03:01 , George Flood

A fairly uneventful opening round as Baumgardner looks to assert her dominance.

All very cagey, not much of note landed so far.

Underway in tonight’s co-main event - the fourth and final women’s world title fight on the card.

Yokasta Valle, Cherneka Johnson and Caroline Dubois have all successfully retained their belts so far in Miami.

It would be a huge surprise not to see Alycia Baumgardner follow suit...

Alycia Baumgardner vs Leila Beaudoin

02:41 , George Flood

The co-main event of the night is coming up in Miami.

MVP superstar Alycia Baumgardner defends her unified WBA, IBF and WBO super-featherweight world titles against Canadian challenger Leila Beaudoin.

This bout is being fought across 12 three-minute rounds as is the case in men’s championship fights, up from the usual two-minute rounds we usually see in women’s boxing.

The WBC do not agree with three-minute rounds in women’s boxing for safety reasons, so a few champions vacated their titles earlier this year - including Baumgardner, who lost her undisputed status as a result.

Jake Paul makes Anthony Joshua fight prediction

02:35 , George Flood

On Netflix, Ariel Helwani has just interviewed Jake Paul backstage at Kaseya Center, where he’s staying nice and relaxed and says he’s listening to meditation music to keep his heart rate low.

The confident rhetoric is the same as it has been all week as he predicts a knockout of Anthony Joshua in the fifth or sixth round.

Anderson Silva calls out Chris Weidman

02:32 , George Flood

Anderson Silva says he has plans to become a police officer in Los Angeles in future, but isn’t giving up fighting just yet.

The Brazilian - who turns 51 in April - next wants the man he was due to fight originally on the cancelled Jake Paul-Gervonta Davis card last month in fellow former UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman.

Woodley is understandably gutted after a third defeat from three professional boxing bouts, but gets a lot of credit from MVP CEO Nakisa Bidarian for taking this fight at such short notice.

Woodley - nearly 44 - says he’s not done yet either, but next time wants a proper camp and sufficient time to prepare.

Anderson Silva stops Tyron Woodley in second round

02:23 , George Flood

Both men heed the message from the fans as they each dramatically up the tempo early in round two.

Silva - arguably the best striker in UFC history - then makes decisive use of his size, height and power advantages, swarming all over Woodley and sending him down to the canvas in a flurry of shots including a thunderous right uppercut that did the damage.

Woodley slowly gets back to his feet but his legs aren’t there and the referee won’t allow him to continue.

Wow. The Spider rolling back the years!

(Getty Images for Netflix)

Anderson Silva vs Tyron Woodley

02:19 , George Flood

The crowd are already jeering midway through a very ponderous opening round.

Both men are exercising a lot of caution early on, Woodley beginning to lurch forward aggressively but the taller Silva drilling home a slick counter.

That was the only action of a very forgettable opening three minutes, with fans voicing their frustration again before the bell.

Anderson Silva vs Tyron Woodley

02:14 , George Flood

Two MMA legends are swapping the octagon for the boxing ring next.

UFC middleweight icon Anderson Silva takes on ex-UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley over six rounds.

Both these men have previously boxed Jake Paul and lost, Woodley doing so twice.

The 3-2 Silva hasn’t boxed since being outpointed by Paul in Arizona in October 2022, having previously beaten the likes of former middleweight world champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr - also beaten by Paul - and fellow UFC legend Tito Ortiz.

Woodley’s only professional boxing bouts to date were his meetings with Paul in 2021, when he dropped an eight-round split decision before being emphatically knocked out in the rematch.

Jake Paul responds to Anthony Joshua 'kill' comments

02:08 , George Flood

To say that Jake Paul was unfazed by Anthony Joshua’s controversial “kill” comments that brought such strong criticism from Tyson Fury, among others, would be something of an understatement.

“Yeah, let’s f*****g go. Let’s put on a show for the fans, let’s go to war,” he said.

“Men have done crazier things throughout human history.

“This is a modern day gladiator sport. This is what we’re here to do, f**k each other up and I’m ready.

“I want his hardest punches, I want there to be no excuses when it’s all said and done. Let’s f*****g kill each other.”

Jahmal Harvey eases to points win over Kevin Cervantes

01:55 , George Flood

All three judges score the bout 60-53 in favour of Harvey, who moves to 2-0 in the professional ranks with ease.

A first career defeat for Cervantes drops him to 5-1.

Jahmal Harvey vs Kevin Cervantes

01:53 , George Flood

Wall-to-wall domination from former amateur world champion and US Olympian Harvey, who shines on a huge stage in only his second professional outing.

He bossed every round and will take this easily on the judges’ scorecards.

(Getty Images for Netflix)

Jahmal Harvey vs Kevin Cervantes

01:48 , George Flood

MVP starlet Harvey is staying aggressive through five rounds, showing his engine after only needing a round to beat Peru’s Marcelo Del Aguila on his professional debut back in August.

He lets out a shout with each punch that lands, firing off heavily with both hands as he continues to batter away at what is now a rather stationary and tired target in Cervantes.

Jahmal Harvey vs Kevin Cervantes

01:43 , George Flood

A truly punishing four rounds for Cervantes, who is caught by another vicious right hand that lands flush.

Harvey continues to set up his attacks wonderfully with that effective ramrod jab that can’t miss.

Constantly tonight he has set traps to lure in Cervantes and then make him pay.

Jahmal Harvey vs Kevin Cervantes

01:39 , George Flood

The gulf in class here is considerable and Harvey is landing virtually whatever he wants through three rounds.

He’s switching stances effectively and rattling Cervantes’ head with both hands, as well as digging spitefully to the body and walking him onto some sharp counters.

Seriously impressive variety and a great array of shots in the locker.

(Getty Images for Netflix)

Jahmal Harvey vs Kevin Cervantes

01:33 , George Flood

Cervantes wasn’t happy with that being ruled a knockdown, claiming he was merely pushed off balance.

But he’s already under huge pressure here, being swarmed by the confident and composed Harvey, who has such fast hands and is choosing his punches nicely and piecing together the combinations to both body and head.

Jahmal Harvey vs Kevin Cervantes

01:29 , George Flood

A cracking start from Harvey, who many have suggested could steal the entire show tonight.

He’s landing a lovely variety of spiteful punches at will throughout the first round, with Cervantes already downed.

A blistering start from the former amateur world champion.

Anthony Joshua: Boxers have a licence to kill

01:28 , George Flood

Anthony Joshua has received a lot of criticism this week for his rhetoric in the build-up to facing Jake Paul, saying: “I’m a very respectful guy brought up by a good family, but if I can kill you, I will kill you.”

Those inflammatory comments brought a furious response from the likes of arch-rival Tyson Fury, who called him a “classless loser” on social media.

However, Joshua doubled down at Wednesday’s final pre-fight press conference when asked to respond to Fury.

“It's my job, we fight. We have a licence to kill,” he said.

“I'm sure many people don't understand it but this is what my job is. I just enjoy what I do.

“Whatever happens, happens. As long as my hand is raised, that's what's important, right? Respectfully.

“That's just the mentality we have to have as fighters. I don't know if any other fighter thinks that way. Maybe they're a bit more tame.

“The things I watch, the way my mind works. When you're in that ring, it's a dangerous place to be. Anything can happen.

“You hope your opponent leaves the ring safely, but if they don't, you still have to go to bed at night knowing you just did your job. It wasn't personal.”

Cherneka Johnson beats Amanda Galle to stay undisputed

00:54 , George Flood

All three judges score the bout in favour of Johnson, 99-91, 98-92 and 97-93.

She retains her title as the undisputed bantamweight champion of the world.

Cherneka Johnson vs Amanda Galle

00:52 , George Flood

A determined effort from Galle right up until the final bell.

But surely she didn’t do enough overall there to threaten an upset.

We await the judges’ assessment...

(Getty Images for Netflix)

Cherneka Johnson vs Amanda Galle

00:47 , George Flood

Into the penultimate round we go.

I’ve got Johnson up by a few, but Galle is certainly testing the undisputed bantamweight champion.

Another really gruelling contest with both fighters cut and bloodied, but still throwing so many punches at a remarkable tempo.

Cherneka Johnson vs Amanda Galle

00:44 , George Flood

A strong seventh round from Galle, who is fighting admirably given how bad that cut is high on the forehead.

Can she sustain this momentum?

Nakisa Bidarian: No matter what happens, Jake Paul has already won

00:41 , George Flood

High praise indeed for Jake Paul from close friend and MVP CEO Nakisa Bidarian ahead of tonight’s massive showdown with Anthony Joshua.

“Jake Paul started his pro boxing career in Miami as the co-main of a Matchroom card. Made over $3M dollars,” he wrote on X.

“Now 13 fights later Jake Paul has Eddie Hearn and his “biggest superstar” Anthony Joshua under his MVPs promotion and he’s the A-side.

“No matter what happens tonight, Jake Paul has already won.

“Hate it or love it, you have to respect it.”

Cherneka Johnson vs Amanda Galle

00:37 , George Flood

Five of 10 rounds down in this undisputed women’s bantamweight world title contest and the headline act of the early prelim bill at Kaseya Center in Miami, which is slowly filling up with fight fans.

Galle is doing her best to rough up Johnson on the inside, where both women are having success.

Johnson is told in the corner that she’s falling in too much and staying in the pocket for too long, which is allowing a bloodied Galle to have some success with the sharp counters.

Cherneka Johnson vs Amanda Galle

00:31 , George Flood

The ringside doctor is called up to the apron early in the third to have a look at Galle’s cut, which looks to be much worse than Johnson’s and is certainly producing more blood.

It’s another gruelling affair amid all that blood, Johnson showing her power and variety early on.

Like Valle-Bustillos, it’s absorbing but exhausting stuff with non-stop firefights at close range and very little defence on display.

Cherneka Johnson vs Amanda Galle

00:27 , George Flood

This is so far following a very similar script to Valle vs Bustillos from earlier on tonight.

Both fighters are keen to let their hands go early, but both have been cut early too due to repeated head clashes.

Blood smeared all over the face of both women.

Cherneka Johnson vs Amanda Galle

00:24 , George Flood

Johnson is nice and aggressive early, stepping forward and driving in some solid shots.

But Galle fights fire with fire and Johnson has been cut very quickly near her left eye after a clash of heads.

Cherneka Johnson vs Amanda Galle

It’s already time for the headline act of this early prelim bill in Miami.

Caroline Dubois dominates Camilla Panatta to retain title

00:15 , George Flood

All three judges score the one-sided fight 99-90 in favour of Dubois, who retains her WBC lightweight title with ease.

Never in doubt.

Does she want new MVP stablemate Alycia Baumgardner next?

One day she says, but not just yet.

(Getty Images for Netflix)

Caroline Dubois vs Camilla Panatta

00:11 , George Flood

Dubois coasts to the final bell, having landed almost twice the number of punches of her outclassed opponent.

10 rounds of utter dominance from the champion and a knockdown to boot.

She won every single round for me to easily retain that WBC title once more.

Caroline Dubois vs Camilla Panatta

Into the penultimate two minutes of this scheduled 10-rounder for the women’s WBC lightweight championship of the world.

The dominant Dubois is pitching a shutout so far here, for me.

A huge gulf in class between these two that has been painfully apparent from the very first bell.

Jake Paul: This is a lose-lose situation for Anthony Joshua

00:04 , George Flood

Does Jake Paul truly believe that he can produce arguably the biggest upset in boxing history tonight?

"I see something in his eyes, I truly do," he said after Thursday’s weigh-in.

"The pressure is on him.

“I'm fighting free, I've already won.

“This is a lose-lose situation for him.”

Caroline Dubois vs Camilla Panatta

00:00 , George Flood

Panatta is down towards the end of the sixth!

The Italian tries to go on the offensive but is quickly cracked by a peach of a short right hook that detonates on her left cheek and sends her slumping to the canvas.

She gets up and survives the round, but an already colossal task just became even harder.

Anthony Joshua: Fans should pray for Jake Paul... he will need it

Friday 19 December 2025 23:58 , George Flood

Here’s more from Anthony Joshua in the build-up to tonight’s huge heavyweight main event against Jake Paul.

"I want them (fans) to pray for me, I want them to pray for my opponent 'cause he's going to need it," Joshua told Netflix.

"I'm going to outclass this kid, I'm just going to outclass him.

"I'm a serious fighter, that's the difference, I'm a serious, serious fighter."

Caroline Dubois vs Camilla Panatta

Another round firmly in the bag for Dubois.

But McGuigan wants to see her rattle off more combinations and stop continually gearing up for one big shot.

He describes Panatta as awkward and almost amateurish in her approach.

Caroline Dubois vs Camilla Panatta

Friday 19 December 2025 23:51 , George Flood

The stylish, confident Dubois just cannot miss with the stiffest of jabs that continues to pile right into the middle of Panatta’s face.

The champion is in full flow, the momentum and rhythm all with her as she continues to absolutely dominate this fight.

This is already looking extremely demoralising for Panatta, who is being thoroughly outclassed through three rounds.

Caroline Dubois vs Camilla Panatta

Friday 19 December 2025 23:48 , George Flood

Another solid round from Dubois, picking her punches well and coming in to land cleanly and crisply when she needs to.

She’s so good at evading any danger on the counter, the head movement, footwork and speed of thought is always on point.

Trainer Shane McGuigan will be pleased with what he’s seeing in the corner so far.

Dubois is jabbing beautifully and there is already a fair bit of damage to Panatta’s reddening face.

One-way traffic so far.

Kody ‘Big Mo’ Mommaerts is back in the ring to read out the judges’ scores.

Yokasta Valle retains her WBC strawweight title by majority decision.

The final bell sounds after another furious round to finish.

A gruelling, exhausting, bloody, all-action title fight draws to a close.

Fascinated to know how the judges scored that.

Will they favour Bustillos’ sheer aggression and work rate or the cleaner, more eye-catching punches from Valle?

We await the official scorecards...

Yokasta Valle vs Yadira Bustillos

Friday 19 December 2025 23:26 , George Flood

This remains an incredibly engrossing contest through the all-important championship rounds.

Bustillos is so consistently aggressive and busy, enjoying a strong couple of rounds and landing so many solid shots.

But you still feel that Valle has done the cleaner work on balance for the most part.

Valle’s corner are not happy after the seventh - they want the champion to attack the body far more.

She should be a few rounds up here, but cannot afford to get complacent as Bustillos is busy and packs a punch.

Valle’s cut on the hairline remains so gruesome, the blood continues to gush down her face.

The cut on the hairline of Valle is really nasty and continues to pour blood all down the champion’s face.

That’s got to be obscuring her vision. So much work to be done in the corner.

A dip in the furious pace in the fifth, but it’s still another massively absorbing round.

Both women continue to land plenty, but Valle just looks to carry more power - especially in that right hand.

No defence whatsoever from either fighter here, both continue to swing wildly with complete abandon.

Both women are cut in what is fast becoming a bit of a bloodbath.

How much longer can they keep up this sort of gruelling tempo?

Bustillos has had some success, but the bigger shots are constantly being landed by the champion.

A couple more ugly head clashes during another fast and furious round, opening up a cut near the right eye of Bustillos.

There’s now blood all over the face of Valle too.

A similar theme in round two, Valle landing some more powerful shots including a massive overhand right that lands flush.

Bustillos’ corner are furious about alleged use of the head from the champion.

Trainer Gil Martinez is barking so loudly in the corner.

He also reads his fighter the riot act before the start of the third, telling her to stop looking for solitary shots and start working through the combinations.

He certainly doesn’t hold back with the swearing...

An absolutely blistering start to the first of three successive women’s world title fights on this bill.

Both women let their hands go frequently during some brutal first-round flurries.

Valle having the better of the furious exchanges, putting together some eye-catching combinations and attacking spitefully to body and head.

Joshua risks his credibility against Paul for £70m

Friday 19 December 2025 22:46 , George Flood

“If Anthony Joshua wants, he can kill this guy,” declared Oleksandr Usyk, getting to the heart of this spectacle, writes Matt Verri.

Joshua was last in action when challenging Daniel Dubois for the IBF title last September.

Victory would have seen him become a three-time heavyweight world champion.

Two months later, Jake Paul spent 16 minutes walking around the ring with a 58-year-old Mike Tyson. What odds then on him being Joshua’s next opponent?

Eddie Hearn is not one for false modesty but even he would struggle to sell this as a £140million masterplan, seven years in the making.

Jake Paul vs Anthony Joshua weight, rules and purse

Friday 19 December 2025 22:27 , George Flood

Despite criticism from many quarters over a potentially very dangerous mismatch, tonight’s main event is a fully-sanctioned professional heavyweight fight.

Normal boxing rules apply, with knockouts permitted.

It is scheduled for eight three-minute rounds, with both boxers wearing the familiar 10oz gloves.

Per the terms of the fight contract, Anthony Joshua could not tip the scales at more than 245lbs at Thursday’s weigh-in.

He came in comfortably under that mark at 243.4lbs, almost two stone heavier than Paul, who was 216lbs.

That is 17st 5lbs and 15st 6lbs respectively. Joshua is also five inches taller than Paul at 6ft 6ins.

An exact figure on how much both men will earn tonight is not known, though it is rumoured to be around £70m each.

Jake Paul vs Anthony Joshua prediction

Friday 19 December 2025 22:19 , George Flood

Despite this fight having been discussed plenty in recent times, it always seemed like fairytale stuff and not a serious or likely proposition, hence the shock when it was announced.

Some have commended Jake Paul for his sheer bravery, others think him extremely foolish for agreeing to face far and away his best and most destructive opponent to date who could do him real lasting damage.

Many traditional fight fans are disappointed in Anthony Joshua for accepting the bout and therefore being seen to legitimise the YouTube boxing phenomenon, particularly given how long it has been since he last fought, his need to bounce back from the Daniel Dubois defeat and the desire to finally see him face Tyson Fury at long last with a couple of genuine tune-ups behind him.

But in reality, how can anyone turn down that kind of mammoth payday which he will likely see as potentially the easiest night’s work of his illustrious career?

We expect Joshua to come out and produce a statement and ruthless performance similar to the one we saw against Francis Ngannou in Riyadh in March 2024, when he dominated and knocked down the MMA star - who himself had floored and run Fury close just a few months earlier - twice with ease before securing a savage second-round stoppage.

Joshua to win by knockout in round two.
