Jake Paul told he's done a "great job" in promoting Amanda Serrano

Eddie Hearn believes Jake Paul has done a great job in promoting Amanda Serrano since signing her to Most Valuable Promotions.

Paul signed Serrano to his management company last September after she fought on the undercard of his first bout with former UFC champion Tyron Woodley.

The unified featherweight champion defended her titles with a points win against Yamileth Mercado that night and she would later fight on the undercard of Paul's rematch with Woodley.

Paul announced after knocking out Woodley in December he would take seven months away from the ring to focus on promoting Serrano's undisputed lightweight title fight with Katie Taylor.

And Matchroom Boxing boss Hearn, who will co-promote the fight alongside Paul, has praised the 25-year-old for promoting Serrano.

"The difference was the growth of women's boxing, the interest in the fight and the revenue it can attract," Hearn told Behind the Gloves about booking Taylor vs Serrano.

"The reason that the fight didn't happen a couple of years ago was because I think Amanda and Jordan [Maldonado] felt there wasn't enough money in the fight.

"Sometimes fighters can say it's worth more, but if that's the money that is generated then it's not really is it.

"I think what Jake's done through pushing Amanda on Showtime pay-per-view giving her that platform and increasing her value."

"Also effectively, we're paying for Jake Paul. When DAZN are buying this fight, they're paying for Taylor vs Serrano but they're also paying for Jake Paul's involvement, so he's done a great job for her."

Hearn also said the increased attention Paul will get from the media as a promoter for the bout will make it a "monster fight".

Taylor picked up her 20th win as a professional when she outpointed Firuza Sharipova last December in her third win of the calendar year.

Serrano has gone unbeaten in almost 40 fights, recently moving back up to lightweight to outpoint Miriam Gutierrez in a one-sided beatdown.

And Hearn thinks most female boxers care less about big paydays compared to male boxers.

"Female boxing is a bit different to men's boxing. There's a lot more ego in men's boxing, genuinely with the women they want legacy, they want to fight the best," he continued.

"They want these historic moments. I'm not saying they would have done it for less, but money matters less I believe to the female fighters.

"But it didn't matter in this case because they've both done extremely well and Jake's done a great job."
