Jake Paul has joked footage of him missing three pitches during a baseball game last night had been edited.
Paul has become a high-profile star in the US after rising to fame following his YouTube career by launching a series of exploits in the boxing ring. He recently travelled to Miami, where he attended a baseball match which saw the Miami Merlins defeat the San Diego Padres 4-3.
During the match the YouTube star was invited on to the pitch to face some pitches of his own, to which he quickly found himself on the back foot. The first pitch came flying in and saw Paul wildly swing and miss before letting out a scream of frustration. The second pitch came in and had a similar result with Paul unable to cope with the pace on the delivery.
He called for one last pitch in a bid to hit the Paul but failed once again after having yet another swing and a miss. After the pitches emerged on social media with fans mocking his ability, Paul claimed the footage was edited, claiming in a Twitter video: "Alright so the video of me missing all of the swings is edited guys, I hit a home run but the cameras weren't rolling for that.
"I hit it a couple of times, I'm better than that, what do you mean?" During the pitches, Paul wore a Merlins shirt with his name and 5-0 on the back to represent his boxing record. Many fighting stars have tried their hand in baseball in recent months, with Conor McGregor having an equally tough day at the office.
The Irishman rivalled rapper 50 cent for arguably the worst pitch of all time, instead throwing the ball far left of the batsman, who was left awkwardly stood there after a poor first pitch. UFC star Sean O'Malley showed the high-profile pair up when throwing a pitch of his own at the Arizona Diamondbacks game with a much stronger and more accurate throw drawing elation from the crowd.

Paul was set to compete inside the boxing ring last month, where he has showcased a much higher level of talent knocking out Tyron Woodley and Ben Askren. He was first set to meet Tommy Fury but his rival was banned from entering the US, before he cancelled his fight with new opponent Hasim Rahman Jr after accusing his foe of ignoring their weight limit.
Now the YouTuber has claimed he is in fresh talks with an opponent for an October return, telling the TimboSugarShow : "We're looking at an October date. Like you said, it's very difficult to train for three months straight and not get any reward out of it, it's a little bit annoying.
"We're looking at an October date and we have a pretty big name opponent that we're excited about. The offer is out and it's looking like we're going to be able to get a deal done."
